This feels like an homage to that one Indiana Jones scene where he just shoots a a dude going nuts with a scimitar.

In WN, I imagined Van was using tubes forming from DK blood to shoot the bullet. Not this fully realized gun with bullet.
Yeah, from the description I thought either veins slithering out and forming into tubes like a water slide around his arms, or the second time he does it, blood pooling out and then hollowing out to make like a red glass cannon. Each time he does something like this I think they explain that he doesn't actually make a gun, it's always incomplete somehow, like just a rocket tube strapped to his arm.

For information, the term ¨Faiel" is a Mistranslation of "Fire".
When he shoots he says "FAIERU", that's how the author wrote "Fire" in Katakana.
Faiel is not the name of anything, it's just "Fire", if he shoots a gun or a cannon, he says the same thing

---------

And for those who may ask "Where did he get the gun from, and how does it work?"
  • Create the base with "solidified Demon King blood".
  • Insert an Orichalcum bullet.
  • Use a shit ton of Mana for telekinesis on the bullet to "throw it".

Is there a reason for it to look like a gun? Maybe the format helps to concentrate? Maybe it just looks cool? shrugs
Hmm..... If I remember correctly, in WN there is no gun but just a long tube to load Orichalcum bullet and fire it like a sniper rifle?

I think a “Magic Gun” is one of my most hated Fantasy Tropes. Just make it a wand or staff, at least a Blunderbuss or cannon if it must be a gun. But that’s just a regular ass Bullet, why can’t it just be an earth spell with fire trails. Who is cheering seeing a gun?

The irony is, a gun in a wizardry world is awesome, read the Dresden Files to see how that works surprisingly well but that’s Modern day! Where guns already exist alongside magic.
a gun has an ergonomic shape so there has to be some pistol gripped projectile launcher lmao starting with crossbows and enhanced with magic to make a totally not a gun

Atleast as far as this series goes, MC can't use any Elemental Magic, so he can't use Fire or Earth magic, and has to rely on alternate methods.

As for the gun and the bullet he created, those aren't normal either, they are made with special material with unique abilities.

As for "Magic Gun" being one of the most hated Fantasy troupe.
I doubt that.
Since I see people actually being excited about them being included, plus there are various series which solely focus on that "gun in fantasy" aspect.
I think, the complaint only happen when the implementation isn't done right, like bullets being physical attacks should be easily countered by a anti-physical attack barrier (aka., barriers meant to block weapon attacks), but alot of times, author's tend to forget that and try to make guns OP without any proper reasoning established.

I remember seeing a gun on the cover image of the WN for the longest time. Confused me this whole time. I can only assume the gun came from the light novel version, so I can now finally understand where it shows up.

In the WN he does like to use tubes, such as cannons. Nothing too complex like a trigger.
