This seems like a chapter that will be better received after a series re-read or after later chapters.
For monthly readers, things seem slower and so a conflict like this seems like an unnecessary delay to the fluff, but this conflict has been alluded to since near the start with Reimu’s constant claims about loving the status quo since the beginning of the manga.
Marisa was the only character to actually realize her feelings and desire change so far, while Reimu still clings onto their daily routines and still doesn’t know her own feelings
On that same token, the conflict getting resolved next chapter might make the current readers happy but at cost for rushing the primary conflict of the manga
