So, I dont feel like reading this but is there a reason for her behavior or is just a random preference? What I mean is, did the author made up a sad backstory to justify her proclivities?

You have to suspend your disbelief; you have to believe it, just as if you were reading a fantasy manga and magic existed. What's the problem?

It conflicts with another assumption: she is supposed to be in love with her boyfriend, but throughout the story:
i) She doesn't try to understand the source of the problem.
ii) She doesn't seek a solution.
iii) She doesn't express internal conflict.

Even if we accept unrealistic rules, it is a problem when characters don't behave like people.

It's only used as a hook to immediately capture attention, generating repetitive situations using this fetish. You could change the order of several arcs and the story would remain the same. On the other hand, if the problem were solved, this manga would end, so you have to accept her fetish as something ‘normal’.

FMC is an abusive nightmare. I read the raw chapters. She gaslights him and takes advantage of him to live her best live. The ntr is gross, but its the way she treats him like ignoring his messages and not making time for him thats a far more realistic portrayal of a shitty partner. Towards the current chapters the main character is realizing he doesn't actually love her, and probably never actually has thanks to the second girl prodding him as to why he puts up with her. I think he only needs to figure out she doesn't really love him either before he starts to move on. However, this author's track record is pretty sus.

Overall its good to be able to see a portrayal of a dysfunctional relationship with some realistic elements not just NTR. In the instance where she ignores him its cause shes choosing everything else in her life over him. The self doubt and lonliness when someone does that to you is brutal. Its even more brutal when she finally starts showing interest in him only when it looks more like hes going to leave her for another girl. Having an example of such a bad partner in media is good so others in a similar situation don't let themselves get trapped in this hell. This manga could have been great without stretching the realm of reason with this ntr shit.

I mean the last chapter "twist" kinda shows that author is not in it for the "modern toxic relationships" commentary. Now the new girl also wants to have sex with her abusive boyfriend over him all of a sudden after flirting for several chapters. There is no rime or reason to the story. It's just bad and the main aim is to make sure MC is humiliated. Even his art reminds me of Kazuya with his goofy low effort face.

I think saying that he is abusive is an understatement; the character is violent.

In chapter 16, he must have put a tear in his eye as if to say, ‘It hurts me more than it hurts you,’ when he goes to punch his girlfriend.

In chapter 26, you can see that his girlfriend still has part of the bruise on her eye, which she had kept hidden under a patch, saying it was a stye.

I find it funny when the author makes the poor guy look sad and lonely in chapter 34 when his girlfriend rejects him, so that we feel sorry for him.

I understand that the author is using violence to further humiliate the protagonist because, even though he wanted to protect her or react to what is happening at the end of chapter 34, it is ultimately proof of his failure. Although that ending also humiliates the second girl. I understand that the NTR genre is morally transgressive, but it seems that the guy is not going to pay for any of his actions.

Although there may be another plot twist in the next chapter, the author juggles things around to get what he wants in his story, so anything seems possible to me now. Ultimately, any story is rubbish when the protagonist only has to stop and think for five minutes about what he is doing to realise that he is messing up.

The message must be from Kuma, because he is the person she sees later, he is the first person with whom they had an exchange. The ones who appear in the first volume of this.

It all seems so fake. Just when she hugs him, the message arrives, and the next thing we know, she's going to see him. We all know what's going to happen. And let's not even talk about Hikaru and Hina's reconciliation...

Doesn’t it seem like she was the one who contacted the guy to meet him? When the MC wakes up, she’s using her phone:

Then the text or her phone said something like, “Long time no see~! I can meet you next week!”

So, since it seems things aren’t going to work out anymore with the couple they’re currently involved with, it looks like she’s already looking for another couple… It would be interesting if the guy said things didn’t work out and that he’s single now, but I doubt we’ll see any real development.

Yes, you're right, that's why I say it seems so fake to me, she hugs him just when she's already looking for someone else to have sex with. She didn't even wait to take a shower. When it seemed like she was worried that Kouhai might be taken away from her. Or so I thought. Although apparently she's more worried about anyone else than her own boyfriend.

I actually assumed that it was done by Rent A Girlfriend author and thought he has gone off the rails, even by his standards lol
