It's what I like to call "car-crash writing." People have a natural morbid curiosity, especially when it comes to grisly deaths, gossip, or relationship drama. Helps us stay abreast of potentially threats or changes to the social fabric. If you're a mediocre writer who can't make something interesting in and of itself, you can exploit this instinct in either direction, and people feel like they "have to know" what happens, even if they're not enjoying any part of the process. Like rubberneckers.

Once you know this, you'll see it everywhere.

I started reading the first chapter, as I progressed I thought "the couple has been together for a while, I guess they never had sex" but then they did and then it went into....swinging, which is just insane, I tried to give it a chance as I felt a sense of disgust growing within me, this is not healthy.

I can't talk for experience, but I have read how there are couples that can't trasform that passion from the flame of that first love into affection, the sort of love you feel for your family, something for the long term, they may see the passion go away and they assume that love is over and so they need that excitement again.......but that's not how it goes:

is like winning the lottery and then trying to chase that high again instead of being happy with the money that you got.

I read the first 4 chapters and I find this work misanthropic, on top of it is already posed like many of these kind of works to not actually address the problem is showing but lean into it for fetish reasons.

"Ueno-kun wa Kaihatsuzumi" for example, even if it took over 50 chapters, seems to have a protagonist who is finally going to stand up for himself against the bullying and sexual harassment he received, hopefully it continues on this trend, but it could have easily just kept on going like that to appeal to people who like femdom and humiliation play.

Never in my life reading a manga ended up making me nauseous. This made it. It's just sad and gross. I try looking for the raws and it gets even worse. I miss my life before this shit.

FMC is an abusive nightmare. I read the raw chapters. She gaslights him and takes advantage of him to live her best live. The ntr is gross, but its the way she treats him like ignoring his messages and not making time for him thats a far more realistic portrayal of a shitty partner. Towards the current chapters the main character is realizing he doesn't actually love her, and probably never actually has thanks to the second girl prodding him as to why he puts up with her. I think he only needs to figure out she doesn't really love him either before he starts to move on. However, this author's track record is pretty sus.

Overall its good to be able to see a portrayal of a dysfunctional relationship with some realistic elements not just NTR. In the instance where she ignores him its cause shes choosing everything else in her life over him. The self doubt and lonliness when someone does that to you is brutal. Its even more brutal when she finally starts showing interest in him only when it looks more like hes going to leave her for another girl. Having an example of such a bad partner in media is good so others in a similar situation don't let themselves get trapped in this hell. This manga could have been great without stretching the realm of reason with this ntr shit.
