So japan is doing just fine. Going from an island nation of 40 million to 120 million within a century means they can have a little fluctuation. There are way more old people than newborns every year in Japan, more people depending on the government than contributing to it despite most people living with luxuries. It's what I like to call "car-crash writing." People have a natural morbid curiosity, especially when it comes to grisly deaths, gossip, or relationship drama. Helps us stay abreast of potentially threats or changes to the social fabric. If you're a mediocre writer who can't make something interesting in and of itself, you can exploit this instinct in either direction, and people feel like they "have to know" what happens, even if they're not enjoying any part of the process. Like rubberneckers.

Once you know this, you'll see it everywhere.

Fuuuck, i really love Swapping/swinging genre with a drama. It's like hurts, but its good. Ahhh i love this.
