C’mon man don’t give her a redemption arc within the course of a chapter, jfc. They preached all about how she could have made someone destitute but she didn’t go through that herself wtf. She’s acting like this BECAUSE it was Harukaze, but if it was anyone else, she’d just be living another day.

Damn, I’m guessing all the revenge payoffs aren’t going to feel that great in this manga huh.

Thanks for the translation!!

If anything, I could see him being nicer to her here, than to his ex and the shitty guy. Yes, she blacklisted him, and it was only the circumstances of who he was and the fact he was gonna quit anyway that meant it wasn't life-ending.
I also don't see how he could be meaner to her than she was to herself, there. Even if it was "just" an apology, dogeza for the Japanese is a complete showing of one's inferiority toward the wronged party, so even in this fantasy setting, that carries weight all on its own.

And...it helps no one for him to just persecute her. As he said, if he had been some random low-level nobody, it would have been horrific for him; but ultimately, he wasn't hurt by her actions, and he also didn't really accept her apology, beyond the feelings she had behind it - he told her to carry it with her for forever as a reminder to be a better person; if she listens, then that's net good being done in the world. And, she and her friend will be getting a front-row seat to the life of those people she'd previously looked down on, which is an avenue toward building empathy and perspective, and might make her a better person later on.

I do think the other two antagonistic individuals deserve less grace, but I also don't even know what he'd have to do for them to be served their own karma - the simple consequences of their actions already seem to be closing in on them, so. They've shown (thus far) less capacity for change, insofar as the manga's shown. I suppose we'll see, though.

Anyway thanks for the TL. Yes, 'cold brutal revenge' might make some people feel better in the moment, but there's something to be said for giving a person an avenue toward a redemption, and letting them prove themselves from there.

Did the author try to justify her awful behaviors by using "but I did that for his sake" excuse? Really?

First. She's a guild receptionist. Working with adventures and support them are in her job descriptions. Why did she take this job with she hate adventurers that much? That makes no sense.

Also. The attitude toward MC when she blacklisted him is anything but a "good will". Did the author think we are idiot?

This writing is getting worse and worse. I'm impressed someone wrote this and it even got published.

don't trust social media too much if there's no solid evidence. in this chapter too, MC attitude is like: you've ruined my life, if only i were poor, i might seek revenge like in manhwa or manhua, but luckily i'm rich & former number 1 adventurer, so I'll give you some advice and don't forget your stupid actions. then suddenly shizuku thought about becoming an adventurer with that bitch mizuki :aquadrink:

Your job is as something like guild staff, they would at least inform you about what adventurers do for a living. And how their work affecting other people. Enough to not make wrong assumption about adventurers. Your co-worker, miss class rep here is a at least have that information.
Her assumptions are all from social media and her judgmental mindset, when she got told off, it's as if she just got new information.
What were you doing all this time?

Chat this isn't a real character who's actually thinking about anything. This a doll that's made to apologize for a mistake they made. A mistake they made because the plot makes them too dumb to know better but also make it the worst thing almost anyone could do. Both equally dumb from a writing perspective.

This is slop. This is a bullied kid's power fantasy. Luckily its just not a super edgy revenge fantasy this time. There's nothing to think about because no one is thinking.

As people are saying, it is indeed dumb for her not to know what dafuq people related to your job do, i can accept the forgiveness but people still have to pay the consequences of their action which at least i like that they are doing

That's just not true, she realized what she did was messed up and it's clear she didn't understand how serious what she did was. Shes lucky Harukaze was in a great position, so because of that she can start over knowing she didn't ruin someone's life.

She didn't deserve to be the target of any kind of revenge. She got fired and learned her lesson, that's good enough

Y'know... it's wild that this had such a trash start. Such a miserable first impression on me that I had to keep reading just to see what kind of train wreck this would turn out to be so I could laugh at it... Now I'm thinking this is actually kinda decent... Am I crazy?

Dunno, but despite them like a record repeating how serious it is, it really doesn't come across as such, because mc literally let's them just walk over him with the "I wanted to quit anyway" line he keeps constantly repeating.
Her apology felt honestly more self-serving, rather than being genuinely sorry, she has to face some consequences and that's what she's sorry for is how it came across for me, especially if mc now goes and helps them as well at that point it's more like she's being rewarded.
