Discussing politics online has been a net-negative from my experience.
Not to mention that, at it's core, it tends to devolve into pure ragebaiting, as it's usually about idiotic extremes and not specific topics.

Medical microbots tiny robots that could swim around in your body, clearing blocked arteries, delivering drugs straight to a tumor, or fixing tissues. Basically a sci-fi doctor inside you kinda terrifying but also super cool. I actually almost got a failed grade for this idea in high school
