There's something funny about the manga about a half-dragon girl being one of the most relevant stories I'm reading right now. Zoom chat in a shonen manga chapter, oh my!

Bet there's some dragon hierarchy and her father is bigshot who can't easily come by and say high once in awhile. I remember the oneshot says he was doing something so he can't easily leave that place.

It could have change at this point but from the sounds of things, it will take some time until we get some confirmation about it.

It would be pretty funny if, unlike the pre-serialization version, dragons are just ikemen with horns and wings or something like that. At least that would avoid the dragons-fucking-cars scenario.

Sure… but why didn’t the teacher say something like, “Your dragon dad is busy with important dragon business, so he asked us to let you meet his dragon buddy instead.”?

I dunno, the way this is written feels kinda weird.

So we're still not going to see her pops. Hopefully the author won't drag it out and really hoping that she will no longer be seen as an oddity. Really want her to gain some confidence after this dragon meeting. Thanks for the chapter!!!

It's a chunni umbrella with a katana handle. Ruri probably got it during middle school. In a much earlier chapter her mom treatments to send her to school with that umbrella

a good "thank you for being born" scene is an easy cheat code to get me misty eyed, another killer scene with Ruri and her mom. I know it's the story's MO but between that moment and seeing Ruri choose something as mundane as a zoom study sesh with her friends before going to meet a DRAGON, this chapter had me emotional lol

it's just wonderful that she has people to rely on like that, even in places she doesn't realize sometimes like with the doctor, just gotta wonder if any dragon she'll meet can be someone else she can rely on too now...

Do remember that most of the other dragons hate humans/dislike humans, so this is potentially a way for Dad to both show off his cool kid and also get the others interested in having one of their own for more harmony between the races. I'm at least guessing it's that.

The katanabrella has been referenced before, with Ruri regretting it all the way.

I am stoked for when we see Dragon Dad though, that'll be fun.

If Ruri isn't meeting her dad but another dragon, at least make it a relevant one like a half-brother, uncle or grandma.
A full dragon half-brother that's also young and going through a spurt would be very interesting. Papadragon making them get acquainted by going bonkers at each other with their raging powers, that's metal!

About Ruri’s father not going to meet her, maybe it’s because Ruri herself said she wasn’t interested in meeting her father. So perhaps he’ll only meet her when she truly wants to get to know him.
