idk where I saw this, but I really like the theory that the underlying premise here is "child sacrifices but scaled up". like the difference btwn slaughtering a pig for meat, and factory farming them in concentrated pens. I haven't seen spectres antagonize each other, so it kinda fits so far? maybe closer to a permanent hunting ground though. in either case, for a being at the top of the food chain, it's a very logical development

What a weird series. Part of me tells me it's just not great in various ways, but somehow I keeps catching my attention and being generally enjoyable.

It's still presenting a trans-coded character as both made trans by external trauma when that's not how anything works, and also fundamentally "incorrect"

The author may very well not intend for Ichinose to be trans, but the cocktail of tropes they have presented has ended up in a deeply transphobic general vibe.
