Thanks for the translation.

So, Hoori, the levels of politeness actually do exist in english, it's typically displayed in forms of address like Sir, for instance a store clerk calling a customer that. "This humble X", "Our humble village" are each fine, but saying someone ELSE is humble is weird and doesn't convey what you are trying to get across.

Hepburn on the credit page: "Wer das liest ist doof :)"
Correction: Wer das so geschrieben hat, ist doof. Da fehlt nämlich ein Komma zwischen 'liest' und 'ist' und ein Punkt am Satzende. ;p

Edit: Yes, I understand German.

@Elhao @Slingerman May I humbly request your assistance? The gates to our humble discord server are open.
You guys seem to know how to translate kenjougo into english and not just drop it.
Honestly I'd use regular polite English and maybe change the font to symbolize the type of speech used.

Oh, didn't notice that. Wie heißt es auf YouTube immer so schön: Diese Kommentarsektion ist jetzt Eigentum der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

War die nicht vorhandene böse Autokorrektur in PS :kek:

I understand the need to include the "humbles" in the dialogue, as it's difficult to convey the tone of the conversation without doing so. Let the others whine. Your translation has been the best so far.

I'd also like to thank you for maintaining the proper honourifics. It irks me whenever teams try to localise Japanese honourifics when there aren't many times it can be done effectively without losing nuance or context. Reading things such as "Mr. Flick" in place of "Flick-sama" in previous chapters was painful and distracting.

Regarding “inbahanes”, what are the chances that it’s Inverness?
Good guess. I saw this one while I was looking for a match. But this name is a fictive name.

インバはネス (Inbahanes) vs インヴァネス (Inverness)

Thanks for your kind words. As you can see, no one of those trolls was able to provide a better solution. Btw Next chapter will be even more funny because there will be dated terms and 古文 (classical Japanese). And humble Eugen is still present.

Writing them off as trolls is not ok. Most of them are not trolling. As for the solution, its simply using the word less. Remember that each speech bubble doesn't need the word, its a ongoing conversation, having it once in the first sets the tone for those that follow and carries over said tone to the following speech bubbles, the tone doesn't just reset each one.

It is trolling. You literally have no idea what you are talking about like most likely the entire rest of the guys that are trying to tell me what to do. How many can even read a single Kanji? How many of you have heard of stuff like sonkeigo or kenjougo? No one, because most other translators just drop it. Just to be clear: It is so much more easy to just drop all the nuances and localize the shit of the script. But then you guys are crying about such translation. Or about MTL.
I wrote in the TL note that they use different types of politeness level. AND it changes throughout the entire dialog. Using it one time in the opening is like dropping the entire nuances.
Does it sound a bit strange/kinky? Yes it does! Does it sound so in Japanese, too? Yes, kind of. This is not how everyday Japanese are talking nowadays. It a stylistic way in this context. Most importantly: Did I get the point across? Seeing all your reaction tells me yes.
Hepburn and I were literally discussing for hours how we would get the point across. Trying different words, grammar, sentence structures... The meme joke on the bottom of the tl note page was actually not a joke at all.
But I guess it is meaningless to try to explain this. You won´t listen anyway. I will continue to keep the nuances in future chapters. If you don´t like it well I guess you don´t have to read it.
Btw: Why did no one of you guys who know how to do it better, joined our discord to join the team and make an even better translation? Well I guess we know why
