Maybe, but there's plenty of other stuff to consume in the world that I don't care that much if I am. Some fanbases can be very annoying, what can I say.

But that's the thing: "I don't really care about it and likely won't interact with it" is a different thing than "I like or don't like the people who are associated with that media and base my opinion of it purely on that"

I suppose, but I would be lying if I said I didn't steer clear of some media if I REALLY don't like the fanbase. But I'll also say it takes a lot to make me not like a fanbase to that level, so you probably won't hear me saying this much.

True, but some can be the very worse and not fun to not interact with. MangaDex manga discussions usually don't have this problem, but I have seen some pretty bad stuff on other anime/manga sites.

Yes, some people hate-read yuri, don't ask why. Others simply ignore the tags. But for some reason not everyone gets banned for spouting hate speech.

Max/MSP I believe I recognize from college 25 years ago - my composition professor used the program in some of what he was writing at the time. It's kind of a visual programming language for Mac (at the time, anyway) that would let you manipulate a bunch of (in his case) MIDI data in all kinds of ways. I'd guess it's branched into audio and video as well by this point.
