And you’re right lol Dr. Reisho was such an asshole. I think in chapter 41 a female doctor mentions that he ran an experiment on Sayaka by administering oxytocin whenever she interacted with the protagonist — meaning she would end up wanting to stay close to her all the time.

Dang, this stuff is heavy, and I read all the way to the end in another language but decided to leave a comment here.
And my god, the twists and turns, the suspense! Every chapter just made me grab onto the edge of my seat more and more.

But you know what? In the end, it's genuinely a good ending with only a dystopian depressing/hopeful undertone like there always has been in this series ... or any dystopian series, really. Dystopian stories are so unthinkable so these things always exists, so I just live with it.

I think some people I heard about hated this kind of progression or something, (Maybe it because the twists between the chapters didn't give the readers any breathing room? Maybe the Yuri was too dark?) but I didn't read their comments in detail anyway, because I don't want to let the dislike ruin my mood.

It's a dang good Yuri dystopian story, and it was so thrilling and enjoyable, so I'll leave it at that.

In the final chapter, she lived free from the facility and guilt-free with the love of her life, with a life on the run away from the network’s eyes, and before that, it was confirmed that her love/obsession was not completely manufactured by the doctor.
Sayaka’s love and passion were just as strong as the first day their memories got erased, and Kurumi’s love for her grew day by day. Although Sayaka‘s too smart to be fooled by sweet lies, and Kurumi turned to take the burden for both of them, everything’s better than the beginning for all five main girls, except for maybe Hikari, who just moved on with her life like before.

Also theywere confirmed to have had many lesbian sex.
But remember, this is just the ending. This story have so many surprises and twists, and I won’t list any more of them here unless you have more questions.
