Thermus aquaticus is an extremophile (thermophilic - heat loving) bacterium that is found in the hotsprings of Yellowstone national park. It can survive temperatures from 50-80°C, but is most comfortable between 65-70°C. It is most well known for it's Taq polymerase enzyme which greatly sped up research into DNA thanks to it's stability at the high temperatures needed to denature (unfold) most proteins. Almost all research that has anything to do with DNA is able to be completed thanks to this enzyme.
Just because the magic unicorn deer has an extremely high body temperature doesn't mean it's meat is sterile, it just means the animals biome probably can't survive at lower temperatures. Still safe to eat, probably.
