That's got to be one of the worst possible times to confess
The daughter was on the brink of stress collapse, all money and mental burden, and when she heard what sensei said, it broke her, and she began panick, mix in with feeling of love, she was acting in confusion. Sensei didn't blame her, he bear all of it because he understand why, doesn't mean it didn't hurt him.
In this series, his mentor is the one closest to the sensei. I don't know if as close as sensei with his mom, he said he grew up normally after parent divorce, so in a way, the mentor really a father figure to him, maybe he was longing for fatherly guidance.

Seems like there is a big jump in time from the previous chapter and it looks like Ogura cursed Takayanagi with some of his words. He said he wanted to learn more which prompted Takayanagi to read to him to the very end. Ogura also said, "Not to cry ever again", which is what made him to leave the room and fight with his daughter so he didn't cry in front of him.

I can understand her frustrations as it has been a long time he's been hospitalized and she really just wants to move on from this. She's already in a grieving process and Takayanagi is doing something, that in a way, enables Ogura to stick around a little longer even if it means he's suffering. It's a little more painful when Takayanagi is actually holding out hope and in a very polite and quiet way is trying to undermine her all the while being wishy washy on taking his books or answering her ethics question.

I've been in that room when my aunt passed away and was pronounced brain dead. Some of my family were upset if you tried to move on and some would be mad if you tried to keep her on a machine. It's all really tragic and no one here is to blame I find. Great of Aizawa-san to come in and let him know that he'll be alright even if today is the worst day ever like a little prayer she used to deal with troubles. She was able to show that she too has a Sensei to look up to as if it wasn't for him she wouldn't have changed to be more "Classy."

Very subtle or at least people are not talking about it, but when Sensei ask Aizawa how she was doing in college, she starts to tremble, maybe she is not going to college at the moment, and had to lie in order to keep the conversation from derailing

For Takayanagi there was inherent value on keeping Ogura on life support, he has someone to confide with, even without response he still has a father figure to speak his worries to, and share a learning experience with, which is something Ogure said he still was striving to, far from being a curse, it was an answer to the question of "what would the patient have wished to do"

Takayanagi didn't left the room because he didn't want to cry in front of Ogura sensei, he left because he wanted to flee from the confrontation of the daughter suddenly confessing her feelings to him, pages 16 and 17 depict him showing utter fear, while the daughter is panicking out of stress and desperation, Takayanagi is having a visceral reaction out of feeling threatened, he has a very bad history of dealing with women ending infatuated with him, without never really knowing him and then becoming disillusioned with him all on their own, it happened with a lot of his female students, with his ex wife, and now with the daughter of his father figure which makes the situation all the more awkward

As a philosopher and ethics professor, of course Takayanagi doesn't blames nor judges the decisions taken by Ogura's family, he is well aware of all the social, economic, psychological, and physical circumstances that lead to such an outcome

But that doesn't means he is willing to engage with having to deal with the daugther of his mentor telling him that she is in love with him, moments after learning that they have choosen to euthanize his father figure

Oh I’m so glad someone bring up the trembling, I’m worried about her failing but it most likely won’t come up again in future chapters based on home many chapters is left. She did the best she thought so she wouldn’t worry sensei in a moment he was the one in panic. Makes me wanna cry 😭 my girl is prob going through it.
