The Boston Crab part is the translator's localization, the Japanese raw says "Reverse Shrimp Hold", the Japanese equivalent of Boston Crab move, which the translator note on page 5 also clarifies. If you really try to use logic and rationality in this kind of reincarnation, you might lose your mind.

That being said, I think I prefer the Unified Boston Theory more.

No... But the Academy is "Independent" , and within it the Student Council all-powerful and sacrosanct when it comes to non-academic student matters.
They can theoretically make your life as a student a living hell.. Death by Papercut and Red Tape.

Which is why the Headmaster farms the issue off to them. Because if it's handled by the Student Council ( probably by forcing MC to give in and frogmarch with the rest of them, or dropping out. ) it's technically a matter amongst students, and "Free Choice" by the MC.

They're not bucking the Emperor directly, but with Petty Bureaucrat-Fu working through the Student Council as an intermediary.

The Emperor is working against the very worst of 19thC/early 20thC Conservatism crossbred with Japanese Expectations of Traditional Womanhood.

An Emperor is powerful, but not all-powerful. Currently he's like a CEO having set a Strategy, but with middle-management resisting it with all their might, because "it goes against Company Culture". ( and it will make half of them redundant.... but you're never supposed to say that...)

Anyone who's ever been unfortunate enough to have been in contact with Corporate Culture will immediately recognise what's happening here... And japanese Corporate Culture is even worse ....

In a sense this is also a test whether our MC is suited as Empress.... If she can bend that particular river to where she wants it, she's Crown Material.....

In all honesty - I've not seen a more compelling argument to just go "okay I guess I'll go lend my strength to [insert rival power here]".

Sure, she's the literal king's daughter - and a former member of the hero party from which the kingdom itself claims its founding lineage. But there is a breaking point, and surely even those at the top who are pearl-clutching over "the unladylike"ness of it all, should see that the mere threat of someone of the princess' caliber turning enemy could spell existential doom for this entire place.

If this weren't a "comedy first and foremost" sort of story, anyway. As it is, she'll just Violence her way through it all and win over everyone with the power of muscles and potential yuri and that'll be that.

But the fact that everyone continuously thinks they can "get one over on" the very girl who 1v500'd an enemy army and has done everything she's done at the academy thus far, really makes this one to suspend all belief and higher brain function over.

At least each group is trying a different method of stopping her, the result is the same regardless but they are at least not doing the same thing every single time.
