Gotta wonder... was there some sort of plot behind why depictions of the "dawn witch" are so different from reality? I know the explanation we have so far is "everyone decided she'd look Like That on their own" but to some degree I feel it might be a deliberate attempt to bury her... maybe we'll meet an imposter Lacey in the future who looks like the image people have of the Dawn Witch and is taking advantage of her fame.

Its pretty much a result of her not liking to be out in public -> people don't know how she looks -> they fantasize based on the title -> rumors snowball -> big booba Dawn Witch

The only way an impostor using her "stage name" would even come close to bothering her, would be said impostor "conveniently" showing up in that remote village she's living in now, or possibly the closest town..

It's a pretty common Trope, but.... The way the story seems to be going it's not something the author seems to have considered...yet..
You never know though...
