As the saying goes: "pride before the fall". They're so convinced of their own superiority that they're incapable of believing anything bad could ever happen to them.It takes a special kind of stupid to try and blackmail a living God in a world of known gods. Especially when you already know you're guilty of blasphemous acts towards the gods. Even if it turns out it's all BS why risk it?
I actually had a discussion with someone about this topic recently. You see the whole thing is that in our world God's existence isn't a fully provable fact and it relies on faith so when we read about a series where the people in it know for certain that a God or Gods exist we wonder why they wouldn't be extremely devote to them as we would if God just suddenly appeared one day and proved it. The whole thing is that with them God's existence is just a matter of fact thing and so they take it for granted. Rather ironically if you took someone from our world and then plop them into a world where God's existence was undeniable fact you'd probably end up with a person more devout than anyone else in that world. It takes a special kind of stupid to try and blackmail a living God in a world of known gods. Especially when you already know you're guilty of blasphemous acts towards the gods. Even if it turns out it's all BS why risk it? Sure people lose records of civilizations that faced divine punishments and disappeared, but there's like... very recent physical evidence that the MC isn't someone worth stepping to. At the very least you'd think a country & church with the resources of a tower at their disposal would do some basic research beforehand.
Anyway, the bit of the gods getting excited to descend was fun and the conquest continues with a nation established. Wonder how the nation would be viewed in like a hundred years. Floria will be the first queen and a high human and the sponsor of the nation is the only male living God and Floria is one of his lovers who will eventually also give birth to his children. That's like an actual religious nation. It's one of those old civilizations that proclaimed their royalty was descended from godhood, but it's not a claim and is happening in real time (in universe).
Super human God.High human huh. What's next, super human?![]()
So of all the people there they sent the most trigger happy one to conquer the tower of those that actively pulled on said trigger .... that's cold, doubly so when you think it won't even begin to serve in calming her x)
Thats the thing, they had no idea they were blackmailing the living god. We already know that the church is heavily corrupt, the gods bearly interact with them and they have been a major political powerhouse because of the fact the gods are very real. In their eyes the role of a god is to answer the prayers of the people when infact the gods only care about the thing they are the god of, they don't care about the people in the slightest. This means that the idiot trio came into this thinking that the MC would not be able to interfear with whats happening as a god. The tower manager didnt capture his tower but inherited it, he fully believes he is supieriour to the MC as he comes from a long line of managers and that the MC would naturally listen and submit to him while knowing very little about the tower management systems. Finally you have the King, hes been told that there is no way that he will make an enemy of the living god by the head of his kingdoms church, the tower itself is independant as no nation claims it. And since no nation claims it hes free to make attacks on the continent so long as he avoids directly attacking the tower itself. It takes a special kind of stupid to try and blackmail a living God in a world of known gods.
