The mother is the only character that doesn't look at the viewer. That must mean something right?
Her face is mostly obscured in the first panel, but her eyes are still looking at us. Her back is to us in the second panel, and Atsushi’s face is of course cut off by the frame. But try not to read too much into things as these are probably more spooky mood pieces rather than filled with deep occult meaning.

Isn't this series built on reading to much, a lot of the clue in the early episode sound nonsense right until mid season 2

It's the "act of viewing" again, which is a theme very often used in the FDQ videos.

the feeling on page 3 when you realize they’re all Looking At You is so intense and unsettling.

the story speculates that the author must have been genuine, since his skill is there, and claims he “can’t have drawn with ill will”, but…that would mean that he genuinely perceived things this way and didn’t see anything wrong with the manuscript as it was. if he’s “innocent”, then he must have believed everyone was staring at him all the time? or wanted to show someone else how it felt, without knowing what the effect would be?
he never submitted it, so maybe he realized it was cursed…

Lol, I thought some of the characters looked strange but I didn't realized that they were all looking at the reader. I thought they were looking at the protagonist's friend.

The safe pages are creepy enough, I wonder what the cursed ones are. Also in the memo, it outlined the cursed pages and it was verified but how would they test this? Did they make someone else read it and see if they get cursed? That means they must have had to make one guy read one page and see if anything happens and do this for every page.
