Monarchies generally rely on religion to keep power. The entire "divine right to rule". The exception of this can be the elective monarchies (like, in IRL, the Polish lithuanian commonwealth) or dynastic monarchies who began with an election(like the Norway monarchy ).
While not all fantasy stories put "divine birthright" as focal point, there is mostly often a special right of the royal families, either strength related or magic related. We didn't saw something similar here, at least for now, so imho, divine right is not to be thrown out of the window yet

Sadly we saw no presence of an institution that managed or preached the Kingdom's religion in the story yet. For example, while Eve was investigating Karina, there was no mention of religion being a factor in any of Karina's faults or the royal family's decision to banish her. In fact, if I remember right, the reasoning to even have Karina or her sister married into the royal family was entirely political as opposed to having anything to do with religion; with even Karina herself not having much to do with it or fostering any connections besides to other nobles. Even the archiving of historical documents is entirely under the royal family's control. So either religion doesn't have a strong enough presence, or if it does, it still bends entirely to the royal family's influence.

I'm sorry, but this was patently stupid. Karina was groomed to be a queen, she should know better than to pull this kind of stunt and not following through. I get she wanted a "symbolic revenge", I truly do. I also get she's not some remorseless killer just wanting an excuse to go on a killing spree during a wedding, but what she did effectively put the entire kingdom as her enemy.

Basically, she insulted the royal family, and, because of it, they will have to respond with deadly force. This isn't the kind of thing a King can brush off, and it needs to be dealt with swiftly. The other issue is that her stunt is literal treason, so now no one can be "neutral" (read: not my monkey, not my circus) or on her side without exposing themselves to harm. She forced everyone's hand for absolutely nothing. There is no amount of "I'm hurting" that can excuse this level of stupidity from someone who was supposed to be a queen.

Honestly, though, I already had issues with the side quest chapters (and characters), but this is too much for me to ignore.

It's all material damage at the end of the day. Dude is a prince, he can put 1000 people into work and do the wedding tomorrow. Ring was stolen, so what? Is it a magical ring or did I miss something? @Jackal-Lantern is right, they seem like hooligans. Sure prestige of the monarchy is stained a bit but it doesn't mean anything, it was like a show or something. I guess the lower class may be impressed by what Karina did but it fails as a revenge.

I hope the author expands on it, breaking glass and stealing a ring is not revenge fit for a villainess. It just makes you look like a petty, jealous ex.

I also don't want Karina to sleep with Reshtoka being all miserable. Artwork is top notch as always though.

If a separate Church do exists, it may be more then possible they have their own archives.
They might, but since Eve not only didn't attempt to visit, but also didn't even mention them as a possibility of acquiring the necessary information, it's a very low chance that they do and it's not under the influence of the royal family. Keep in mind that this is girl a who is still attempting to investigate despite receiving a stern warning from the king; so if there's a chance that the church (if they existed) had their own archives, Eve would've went to them rather than chasing all over the kingdom for mere gossip.

Even if we go on the assumption that the church is keeping said archives a secret, it would not only mitigate the effects of said archive as that would mean that only a select few would know its existence, let alone make adjustments to it, but it would also again reinforce the idea that the church has little influence in the face of the royal family as they have to do things secretly.

I get many are disappointed but if you really want to hurt someone, ruining their perfect wedding is the way to go. It's even worse for royalty whose power is almost only as good as people believe in it. Especially in a country where there's conflict with noble factions, showing weakness is inviting them to take a swing at the king.

Karina may have started a civil war without doing any of the fighting. Because let's be real, she was not going to take over a country armed with two cute wolf-girls (one missing an eye) and three kids. If the Wolf Tribe was a legitmate country with numbers behind it, there would be a play, it's Dany crossing the Narrow Sea with a Dothraki Horde!

Here, the only thing to do was to keep it personal and hit them in the nuts. Stealing the wedding ring is the lucky cherry on top, to add insult to the injury.

Though yes, now the problem is the expected retaliation. They better run and hide, while hopefully, the crown has to deal with looking like a bitch.

The whole thing is rank humiliation down to the stealing of an important symbol of royal power.

That was anticlimactic. I was waiting for blood and gore... And I just some shattered glass and Karina running away with a ring chanting my precious like we're in The Hobbit movie.
Indeed... there's not even a "talk-jutsu"
That lasted 2 season of back story.. on why she became b*tch

There's not even much of a depth when she asked her former Fiancée "did give her a grand funeral?"

And to her sister saying only "stop this madness"

I was expecting there's a differ hardship lol

The series is doing great over in Japan.

People saying "I don't like this story therefore it must be getting axed" really are something, though.
I agree, people wanting series to be axed because they dont like it is wild

also alot of japan loves Alot of garbage series, its always the oposite with us, the garbage they love last forever and the actual peak stuff end up getting axed, hence why we tend to say japan has bad taste usually with which manga continues :shamihuh:
