I know nobody's gonna give a shit about this but I really gotta rant for a bit cause it ain't the first time I've been wanting to say this.
Honestly, I think some people really need to take a step back and take another long, hard look at what they write. Wishing for someone to get killed or gang raped is not okay, under ANY circumstances. If you don't get how profoundly misogynistic and problematic this is, I hope you'll manage to crawl out of whatever echo chamber you're in or get over the personal trauma you've experienced, because if you're saying stuff like this about FICTIONAL characters who haven't done anything to you, I can only imagine what your worldview must be like. Saying this is specifically aiming at finding the most painful, dehumanizing way to hurt someone. Calling for people to get killed ain't a good look either.
One also has to wonder why some are so invested in reading something that makes them feel these extreme emotions, cause either it's ragebait and maybe they should read to be entertained instead, or they're specifically looking for things to fuel their existing hatred, or even worse, their moral compass is being warped by this type of fictional thing. Either way that shit isn't healthy, to themselves but also to the people out there who have to suffer the real world consequences of others' intrusive thoughts materializing. People actually have this happen to them in real life, and it could be your mother, wife, sister or daughter. I doubt you'd be saying "she deserved that", you'll probably go grab your pitchfork instead, unaware of your cognitive dissonance.
We're supposed to be civilized people and the product of thousands of years of evolution, so let's be better than this. Society's already plenty shit and we really need to start moving forward again instead of backward. There are issues we need to talk about but causing ever greater divide between us based on race, sex or gender is not gonna help us finding the solutions together.
Anyway, sorry for the tangent.
