Hiatus already?! Ngl, the story is interesting compare to other isekai slops even the writer has the crime history.
you can think the author is gonna show a case of himself being a patient of the psychologist as even him is getting treated for being a sex offender (dude if I remember right, during pandemic, not once, but twice in the SAME DAY went out in a bicycle to sexual assault a pair of minors), the hiatus is totally expected, even the axe wouldn't be that weird.
Oh you ALSO changed your comment, how interesting :^)
While it's true that everyone's free to feel this way and drop it/stop supporting it, and I think they should if knowing who the writer is, makes them uncomfortable, BUT anyone who wants this publication canceled is an idiot to say the least.
Also, I can't really call this a "lie", anyone can use pseudonyms for whatever reason they want, in this case it was obviously for PR.
yep, sacrificed the guy, because they protected someone even worse, and had to go transparency as author started to leave the place in disgust. Main problem here is, for author a pen name is super important for them, but maybe with these cases people will start to show a red alert any new work that shows an author with a pen name (not their OG name).
also I think Shogakugan has another case of an author not long ago that deleted himself?

On 2024 Hinako Ashihara committed suicide after the dissatisfaction of the adaptation of Sexy Tanaka-San, which she tried to improve for the final episodes, but the mishandling and public backlash against the adaptation was too much

retards who came in here trying to be a moral warrior, you could at least try to get your facts right
you don't actually care about victims, you just want to feel superior by bashing a "pedo" on a fucking pirate site

That said, Tatsuya Matsuki stated in a public announcement that he deliberately published under a pseudonym in order to "avoid hurting his victims' feelings", which means that yes, he deliberately concealed his identity and lied to readers because he knew it would be bad publicity.
Oh really ...

pseudonym
/ˈs(j)uːdənɪm/
noun
noun: pseudonym; plural noun: pseudonyms

a fictitious name, especially one used by an author.

Here is a very expensive list of people you just called liers. One being Agatha Christie who wrote under Mary Westmacott to avoid those works being recognized as her, another being Isaac Asimov that wrote the Lucky Starr Young Adult Novels under Paul French because he was afraid they would be turned into a low quality TV series and didnt want to be associated with then.

This isnt "lying" to the readers, calling it is less that a stretch and more of mental gymnastics trying to "prove" he did something wrong. Of course if he returned to writing he would be writing under a pseudonym such as Juliet Hulme did for the rather obvious reason.

If anything I think this has to do with severity of the crime of that scat-imbecile, so this manga might have a chance of surviving.
P.s. slightly off-topic, but even 6 years later I think Matsuki is a massive idiot, simply because out of all the things to kill his career over, he choose something as pointless as sexual assault, and especially as idiotic as "flipping skirts and groping*, while riding on a new bike", like holy shit dude:huh:
Tbh , mostly from abused from shonen jump editors held his meds hostage and alcholism

Hope he gets picked up by another publisher. Crazy they’d betray him on their own like that when his case is so old and he didn’t actually rape anyone or even restrain them. He touched a couple boobs through clothes then immediately ran off like a shitty brat pulling a prank. Thats why he didn’t do jail time.

Clearly this manga was inspired by his own post-conviction experiences with counseling. Good writers only write what they know.

First of all, let's not trying to defend/lessen his crime by lightly saying "he touched a couple boobs". He assaulted minors, and he deserved his sentence (which he got off quite lightly). Japan is notorious for being lenient with sexual assaults, after all.

That being said, I agree that this case is a huge fucked up by the publisher. They definitely knew who he was, still ran with him under new pen name, then now throw him under the bus just because they did the same shit with a worse offender. The whole thing with them is shady af. As fucked up as Matsuki's crime was, and as lenient of a punishment he got, he still served it thus should be (almost) a free man under the eyes of the laws now. He deserves a second chance, and hopefully this manga can continue, even under another publisher because the current one is the real villain here.

Can't believe I am defending a paedo here.

The publisher is the one that reached out to the author. So at least he's not at fault for trying to force his way back into the industry while hiding his name. It was all Shogakukan.

I mean Act-age was really good too, guy knows how to write so its not really surprising hes back under a different pen name.

Anyway, this scandal has been MASSIVE. Imagine if the editor had actually offered the victim a real amount of money. After everything she was forced to go through, 10k is honestly insulting. Of course she wasn’t going to take that.

sigh no fucking way. Why many great authors have some kind of problem irl?

Some could argue that to be able to create some interesting stuff, one would have to be weird in some ways.
