Such a shame. I guess I'm gonna scope out other sites soon.this is probably gonna be our last chapter here since mangadex is going corpo, its been nice scanslating for you guys (maybe if you guys are lucky enough a new chapter will come out soon)
You mean with the recent removal of child-related content? Made in Abyss is our canary in the coal mine and it’s not dead yet. I assume they just removed NSFW titles, no? It certainly sets a bad precedent for future removals, but when you get this big either you bow to the law when it comes knocking, or become a blatant piracy site that ignores the law with all the personal liability and hosting and monetisation issues that comes with that.mangadex is going corpo
They are now a registered company in the UK. It is pretty clear where things are going. You mean with the recent removal of child-related content? At which point you’d be better with peer-to-peer, or at least some kind of eepsite or other alternative decentralised / privacy-focused world-wide-web analogue. Does such a thing exist for manga?
Unfortunate. Thanks for your contributions so far!this is probably gonna be our last chapter here since mangadex is going corpo, its been nice scanslating for you guys (maybe if you guys are lucky enough a new chapter will come out soon)
not really sure on that tbh, maybe?Unfortunate. Thanks for your contributions so far!
Quitting here or everywhere ? Say some suspiciously similarly named site targeted at manga scanlators ?
Thanks for the translation.not really sure on that tbh, maybe?
It's not just making the poison. She's sneaking around poisoning individual meals on the plate. You could conceivably do that MGS style, but for 3 weeks straight?Quite a bit of life left in these orcs still. You can only imagine how they would be in full health.
That being said, I somewhat expected Aria to prepare more during the long weeks. It's not like a bit of hunting and poisoning the water and food would have taken all of her time. But maybe she thought preparing traps would be useless if the terrain is such that she wouldn't have any idea which route the orcs would take when finally departing for the human town. She couldn't have placed traps too close to the orc camp either, lest the regular patrols spot them.
There are probably paths that the orcs prefer traveling in the forest, so she probably would have figured out where to set traps. That being said, I somewhat expected Aria to prepare more during the long weeks. she doesn't have a great track record of backing down, no - but that could be a point made toward her "maturing", in a tactical sense. Since sometimes retreating is the smart move that better ensures future success.Well, Aria did manage to slow them down, but it looks like the orcs have turned the tables on her by baiting her into attacking their force which is too much for her, with several high level orcs. That's another rough fight ahead and honestly I think she should flee, possibly away from the human village to see if she can bait them into thinking she came from another direction. I don't think she has much of a track record for fleeing from fights though... I don't have much hope for the general not showing up; there are too many orcs around and one is bound to run back and report, but I might be wrong and the general might have set himself up in a defensive position to protect the weakest orcs still in their village. Still, if a report comes in that Aria has managed to take down one of the higher level orc, the general is bound to move because he really can't afford to lose them so if she's a threat who can take them down he needs to face her. Well we'll see how it goes.
There are probably paths that the orcs prefer traveling in the forest, so she probably would have figured out where to set traps.
But, traps require a lot of time in a forest. You have to dig holes, or cut trees for spikes. So first I would say that she didn't have the manpower for such a plan, because she's not preparing traps for a few opponents but for an entire village of orcs. Maybe the best option, since she was able to infiltrate the village, was set up traps inside in order to set it on fire, but honestly that's probably not very realistic since a forest is generally humid and she would need to have some material that can easily light up like oil and dry wood set up. So yeah, procuring manpower and materials for traps is difficult; she had trouble getting the poison she wanted with what was available in the forest to start with.
The other problem is that her slow poison plan is incompatible with setting up traps. The whole point of the poisoning is that they would slowly accumulate it in their system, unaware that there is danger. If there are traps in the forest, in paths which they thread, then they will trigger them and be alerted that there is danger once they realise that orcs sent out stop returning or worse, return with information that there are traps. Traps also often use something enticing like food to lure the prey in and by the end they were starting to realise there was some issue with the food and that it was a poison trap.
I'd say that traps make more sense near the human village in a siege situation. There's some distance between the village taken over by the orcs and the human village, so once she was locked in to the plan of observing and poisoning them, to ensure she can react whenever they decide to attack the human village, there was no leeway to go back. Traps would have been the responsibility of the soldiers back at the village and they were busy just evacuating.
