Mangadex to purge titles for legal reasons

Late to the party and probably beating a dead horse but I believe it needs to be repeated, this entire idea that the nsfw content is being removed for legal reasons is probably the most moronic braindead thing the mods could have said, there's no such law and you all know it

Also, if Mangadex wants to comply with the laws then the site might as well close, piracy is objectively illegal, it's the entire fucking reason why DMCA works

Honestly? I'm not sure what surprises me more, Mangadex going this direction or the idiots defending this change

Oh well, either way guess I should start getting my ducks in a row for the inevitable moment the site crashes, cause it sure will happen in time, the funny thing is that some of us expected it to happen due to more DMCA instead of suicide

I get your point the research isn’t fully clear, so it’s hard to make definite claims. But even without perfect evidence, people raise concerns out of caution. It’s okay to not be an expert just keeping the discussion respectful is what matters. x
So basically you're just concern trolling. Only idiots would get affected by fiction like that and if you're that easy to influence you have more things to worry about than the fiction you consume.

Honestly, when people like you push for censorship of fiction it really just goes to show how little integrity you have. How little trust you have in your own self-control that you'd rather just blame fiction.

You know what you reminded me of? Conservatives in the USA, they love to cry and scream about democrats, lgbt or whatever being pedophiles, guess which side of the political spectrum is always having people arrested for pedophilia? Tip, it's not the democrats nor lgbt people :v

The people who scream the loudest against such things definitely are hiding skeletons in their closets

It's always funny seeing all this fake outrage about loli / shota in the west while Japanese people are capable of separating fiction from reality and don't lose their minds over it

It also reminds me of early 2000 when there was the religious moral guardians wanting to censor anything and everything they dislike, funny how 20 years later we have that again except it's not due to religion

Oops sorry we don't have the same information here. :shamihuh:

A quick example find on google:
He makes much more money filming children than older girls. The DVD of the six-year-old made him “four million (£28,500) or five million yen (£35,500),” he says. “The senior high school girls will make about one million (£7000)”.

To be clear, it's not just Japan that does this. The UK has it worse. So it's ridiculous to try to link this to the prevalence of fictional content.

At the very least Japan is still much better than most other countries when it comes to sex crimes.

Also, personally, I wouldn't trust anything that the BBC says about Japan, they've been known to lie and mislead before.

Idc about the UK and I am not linking my argument to fictionnal characters.

It is totally banalized in Japan. For example this fucking author who wrote Act-age was not banned from publishing companies, so he worked on another serie after Act-age was cancelled. Also the company was actively protecting and supporting him.
Also, don't forget that they are not a lot of known case in Japan because they are so ashamed of it that they would rather commit seppuku that to look at their neighbors in their eyes, even when they are the victims.

Good to know that you don't trust BBC because the quote doesn't come from them but from the documentary that they are quoting in the article.
