Hallo ha- wait, I'm not Plykiya.

Good day, afternoon, evening, night, whatever time of the day you’re seeing this, my fellow forum members.

Indeed, while I said this would come sometime in April, I wanted something special for my 4000th post, so here we are.

Welcome to the second Manga Tournament!

Theme: Doujinshis.

Rules:
How many doujinshis can one person submit at a time?
Again, we're doing 4 maximum. The number may be altered if participation is low.

How many people can participate?
There isn’t a limit to how many people can participate.

What should I do, as a voter?
Read the doujins, duh. Don’t just look at the cover, the synopsis, the title, the ratings, the follow count and/or whatever it is that catches your eye and vote based on those.

Can my submission be an anthology of doujinshis?
No.

Can my submission be a part of an anthology?
As long as it has a separate MangaDex page, then yes.

Can my submission be a multi-chapter doujinshi?
Yes, but don't submit something like this which has an excessive amount of pages. Keep them to a minimum.

Are oneshots allowed?
Yes, but don't submit anything from the previous tournament.

Can my submission be a pre-serialization of a serialized manga?
Yes.

Can my submission be a continuation of a completed manga?
Yes.

Are Erotica/Mature doujinshis allowed?
No, for obvious reasons.

Are Gore doujinshis allowed?
No, again, for obvious reasons.

Can my submission be a manhua/manhwa/whatever?
Yes, as long as it follows the criteria above and below:
  1. It is tagged as a doujinshi on MangaDex.
  2. It is readable on MangaDex. By that, I mean it must have an English translation, and said English translation has not been removed from MangaDex, whether it be from a DMCA, the group behind the translation removing it themselves, or some other reason.
These criteria also apply to manga.

Who can’t participate?

Me. I think you can get a pretty good guess why...

Format:
Same format as last tournament.
There will be 6 groups, 6 threads, with room for extra mangas if need be. Each thread will have a poll for the submitted mangas, and members will get to vote for what they think are the best mangas to advance to the next round.

Round 1:
Submissions divided into 6 groups. Voters choose the 4 best mangoes in each group. The 4 mangoes that get the most votes will advance to the second round. If ties emerge (whether 2-way, 3-way or whatever way), I’ll break them myself, with assistance from @Angry_Panda if I need it. This round will last for 30 days, and by the end of it, we will be left with 24 submissions.

Round 2:
24 submissions will be divided into 3 groups, 8 in each. Best 4 advance. This round will last for 15 days.

Round 3:
12 submissions, 2 groups, 6 in each, best 3 advance, lasts for 12 days.

Round 4:
Final 6 submissions will be put into one group. Instead of a top 4, voters will get to pick a top 3, which will be considered the best doujinshis democratically (or undemocratically) elected in the tournament. Lasts for 7 days.

Again, no fakeout rounds.

What's the prize?
All three winners get custom titles, as per the norm.

Actual prizes?

Well, I can't really think of any. If you're willing to throw anything into the nonexistent pile, DM me.

Oh, don't submit anything here, by the way. A submissions thread will be created like 3 days later, if I'm not busy.

Edit: The submissions thread can be found here.

To everyone who's participating, good luck to all of you. Even if you don't win, you'll get to show the forum interesting doujinshis that are sure to be added into their "Completed" library.

David, signing out.

Eh… does it have to be a completed doujinshi, or can it be an ongoing one?

Completed; if it's ongoing, a new chapter might come out during the voting process, which could change the voters' views on the doujinshi.
I will change your eyes to view. Doujinshi chapters are mostly standalone with a little continuation.
