So if i find out what group made it then can i upload it?
It helps if the chapter you upload has a credits page. Almost all scanlators add one, so if it's missing it can indicate that it was removed (which is also against the rules). If the credits page is included, it will inform you which group made it, add legitimacy to your upload and speeds up the verification process.
When uploading a chapter the first question is what group the chapter is from. Unless you created it yourself, there's a 99% chance you'll find the group there. So skipping that step by selecting "I don't know" is also a red flag.
In some cases the group might have upload restrictions, preventing users who aren't part of the group to upload chapters from that group. Sometimes that means the group is active and wants to manage their own content and other times it could mean the group's content was banned from MangaDex. So it's best to not circumvent the system by uploading it in some other way.
