I like it when the usual tropes are used to introduce the characters. Not just a random act of kindness to get affection points. It was so funny watching Umi's reaction that Shouya is used dealing with kids because of her younger self.

Agree with Shouya, men's modern clothing isn't fun. I don't really dress up, but I really like batik (Patterned clothes from Indonesia), and the variety gap between batik for women and men is enormous. Men only get one kind: formal shirt. That's it. The only variety you get is the length of the sleeves, and the shape of the collar.
Even the clothes Shouya bought are just a set of different color of shirts and jackets.
Now I think about it, I think we saw a collar shirt, and suits, then called it a day. "Yup, we're good for the rest of humanity's civilization."
