Old world clothing is expensive cause their current civilization they have has lost the old world tech manufacturing ways, which is why even clothing like those are even considered relics.

Which is odd when you consider that they have tech of nanomachines like Sara's that regulate health and augment physical strength, yet don't have nanomachines threads that auto-resize and repair clothes like old world tech does.
