Some of you guys act like this is your first time reading rom coms. Most rom coms have a separation arc, either because the mc or fmc has to go to school or a different country for whatever cliché the author is going for. Japan has a thing for tropes. So I don't understand the complaining, odds are the chad will cozy up to the FMC, some misunderstanding will occur, but they'll overcome it, to show that their relationship can withstand hard times. You would know if this was one of those roms where the couple doesn't end up together, because it has more drama and subtle tones and adult themes. This one does not. Just enjoy the ride, we all survived these arcs in other rom coms before, we will survive this one as well.

Just because we’ve seen the tropes before does not mean we can’t be critical of them and the characters involved. I don’t care about your confidence they will end up together, i just don’t like seeing the FL be so incapable of putting her foot down and telling this guy to fuck off (to me, it sorta invalidates the established fact that she is totally smitten by the ML if she keeps entertaining the rival or treating him as a friend). Perhaps i’m relating this too much to real life, but i know a lot of people here would be pissed to see their partner stay close to someone who clearly has a thing for them

Its unbelievably awkward for their entire friend group if she singles that guy out, and decides to no longer associate with him just because she got a boyfriend. Her look of disgust when he started flirting with her, and the fact that her friends all came to her defense shows that none of them are taking him seriously, and he probably isn't being super serious about it either. We don't know how this guy actually feels about her. He could very well just be teasing her. His flirting didn't really seem serious from what I could tell.

He has no chance but part of the reason we do the "let's not date until I'm ready" thing is to allow these types of moments and it can be a bit predictable and old regardless. If this is all he does it's fine but I think many suspect this isn't all he'll do. Their "not dating yet" allows for these types of advances that feel very uncomfortable when the audience already considers the characters as a couple. I'm hoping this was just the author having some fun and they don't intend on going further with it. I wouldn't stress at this point though.
