Manhua & Novel Differences:
This chapter adapts Volume 12 chapter 19-20 of the Web Novel, things that were changed between the Novel & Manhua is the fact they left out the details and conversations about each locations in the blood spirit palace while constructing the entire palace from scratch, where in the Novel the chapter was actually called the Forgotten Maid which was unfortunately cut in the Manhua, it mention about a certain maid who once was Lilias’s personal Maid before only for some incident related to her made the maid seem weird forgotten and disappeared told by Bai Ji, Tina & the Other Blood spirit Members implying it could be Kerr/Lilith. Also the Conversation between Yana & Bai Ji regarding her identity as Solyanda and how the first embrace worked happened after Tina gave the palace design map to Bai Ji not in the Bath Scene, and Yes the Bath scene is Manhua Exclusive, it not in the Novel surprisingly so enjoy this fanservice scene while we are at it, though they did mention a bath but it wasn’t show just that Tina was told to take a bath and then we went straight to the part where Bai Ji notice Tina taking Lin for a walk which continues in chapter 20 volume 12 but it spoiler for now since the manhua end here for this chapter.

They mention it way back in the chapter where Bai Ji became Queen or unlock her full powers and Lilias told Ziling as to why a mere human like Ji Bai who became Bai Ji manage to become a part of the royal family mentioning the success rate of first embrace usually being really low and that if Ji Bai wasn’t compatible with it he would have died but he didn’t so he passed the test, as for Yana it was way back in the flashback where She first made her appearance she saw Solyanda in Bai Ji that she started to regain her memories while working for the Ancestral Cult this was also a hint that made her do the gamble starting with making Bai Ji go through trial of deaths and lead up to getting Solyanda powers & memories also her clothes

Don’t worry about that so far after this Lin & Tina goes on their way of walking around while Bai Ji scouted the area of the blood spirit palace to remake all the land around the palace including the walls protecting it she notice the black fog and abyss rising up again in the area so she went to fight and stop it, after this they will be preparing to fight Sin Lord , Bai ji noticing that he keep sending his shark minions instead of fighting everyone face on which mean it must be scared of Bai Ji or testing them. This is where I read in the Novel so far excluding skim through different chapters

Yeah I remember this. It's just that I got confused by the wording there, if it was like the embrance can only be done by a royal family member, or if it only worked if the person they're doing it on was from the royal family before/in a previous life.

Honestly I’m just really glad that we’re finally getting a follow up with Lin this chapter since she’s been sorta absent for a while.

Especially after how much the plot has done her dirty:
•She got manipulated and posses twice by the people who killed off her immediate family
•At this point Ji Bai is technically dead in her eyes
•Then when she was possessed she tried to kill her cousin
•And then they kinda kill off her aunt in like two back to back arcs

I think it also has something to do with success rate so yea that might be the case sadly we don’t have any more example to go by on this like since Liliana was already female so that doesn’t count and the only target we seen of first embrace is Ji Bai being turn into Bai Ji, maybe if it fails as mention it either Ji Bai dying due to incompatible or failed to be turn to female

I will say that I believe the novel describes the first embrace as the way the Vampire Queen keeps the bloodline pure

Because it passes down all the mothers genes which is why Bai Ji is completely identical to Lilias

So regardless of gender it should turn them female as well as make them look like the Queen
