@Mangamoz and @Azurea_Mystis yuri cannibal dystopian office ladies fic part 1 of however many it takes me to finish to a point i like it. current state is like 45 minutes i wont revise it at all

Socializing has always been difficult, she's found, not only because she's never quite sure how to deal with other people (it's the eye) but also because most times she simply hasn't been bothered to try (it's most definitely the fact that her head is an eyeball). Why attempt to fix a machine that's probably broken but is still working well enough regardless?

Anyways. That morning Moz had to double check to make sure she hadn't accidentally swallowed a fistful of insect larvae in her sleep instead of the allocated 7 yearly spiders with the way her stomach fluttered when she showed up, though. That girl's beauty was almost enough to overpower the irritation she felt knowing how much effort was surely being placed into the 'effortless beauty'.

Who does she think she is, acting like she has enough free time outside of work in order to take care of herself? It was infuriating in mere concept and infuriating to not know about it. The blue-skinned girl's secrets would be hers, goddamnit. Alcohol is the second-best lubricant of the mind, sitting just behind a barrel to the temple, and Moz's demotion last month restricted her to just one bullet a quarter. It'd be a waste to use it on someone that wasn't herself. Oh well. Option A it is. Cheap beer and cheap food is an easier way to a woman's heart.

"So, ah... how did you end up in voting compliance, anyways? We don't... well. We don't really see a lot of new members on the team, often."

Tsk. She seems more interested in the Ration Bowl Type F - Savory Broth with Extruded Carbohydrates - Hot than the conversation. Should've expected as much from a new face no matter how captivating it is to look at it.

"Food," she starts, just starting to swallow. It's barely recognizable as an actual word. "Gives me money."

"Hey, what's your name, anyways? I guess you wouldn't have gotten your IFF chip yet. I can't ping you," Moz says, leaning forward and resting her weight on the table.

"Azurea," Azurea says, only after briefly glancing up and spending several seconds continuing to eat.

Foreign name, obviously — though she doesn't recognize where from. Should probably have assumed as much... everyone here nowadays is foreign. Those born here got on the outbound trains and the inbound trains are always full. Everyone who stayed is either insane or stupid and regardless of the first classification also likely a masochist. Not only does the city chew you up and spit you out but it also rubs its shoe on you like a cigarette butt for good measure.

capitalism has killed God . literally.

what remains of earth after the conflict is built inside the corpse of the thing the united militaries of earth destroyed 50 years ago, mostly because the rest of the planet was almost entirely submerged with the amount of water its body displaced when it fell into the pacific ocean.

made of a largely radial body, countries have been dissolved into 'arms' — twenty (remaining) in total, each spanning from about 500km at the shortest to slightly upwards of 1750km at the longest. all of them are uniformly 104km at thickest, near the base.

at the base, the Ribcage, as is called in common vernacular (despite not having a skeleton in a traditional sense) is where the majority of organs were originally housed before excavation began, having been broken down into a gargantuan cavern of factories and smoke and buildings in between like sand filling a jar full of rocks, all made of a substance known as crystal filament (all attempts to probe into its actual composition have been fruitless, preventing a more precise name.) it has a texture somewhat like fiberglass, but if the strands were the size of rebar

resistant to shattering and shear forces, light and able to hold several hundred times its weight, crystal filament is believed to have been the the closest analog to God's skeleton. it's able to be efficiently melted down and cast into many materials, but most commonly used for building structures similar to injection molding

i haven't worked on the governmental system or society or anything yet but this is the setting i literally just came up with as i wrote it

I assume the capitalists, having killed God, now believe themselves to be God's replacement.

Perhaps a cultlike worship of the politicians who killed God started to develop.
