Doesnt look corrupt to me. The stuff about Dindel fruit kinda popped up outta nowhere (aside from brief mention that it's pricy in town, which doesnt make sense either because it was also mentioned adventurers pick the Dindle trees all the time.)

Aside from the commissions she's legally entitled to, only bribe she's getting is maybe a bag of fruits. In return, she handled a sales case involving a difficult customer, while ensuring a team of professional material gatherers continue working here. Any guild manager examining her work would overlook her taking a few Dindles imo.

She is a noble btw, her situation regarding inheritance is complicated but yeah she is very shrewd just like typical nobles

Yeah, that's kind of a weird thing for him to say. I remember the reason they were profiting from it is because it's so tall that elves are the only ones who can climb it safely, so it's really not worth it for anyone else.

Maybe it's a mistranslation and it says "we picked from it all the time"? It's just my guess though.

No? As she stated herself, corruption would be swindling, making unfair claims to diminish others. The only would-be "abuse" here is if her statement wasn't backed by the guild (not handling the mediation in the future), but if you pay attention to the dialogue it's more like a verbal agreement made out a noble's request (a "higher standing"), not a contract written in paper or anything. And she was fairly truthful about that too. It's clear no other buyer seemed interested, there is no mention of the guild getting a commission out of this either, if it was possible at all to lease.

I actually want to take a step back and remind you as well that the noble planned only on renting the land, and if they built a house there, it would be the noble's property after the rent expired (not to mention the noble would also probably increase rent or try to get out of the agreement at that point, which is a scummy practice done IRL at least in my country, so imagine then in a world less advanced with nobility and crude laws).

not to mention, the guild isn't a specialized agency for real state, they are more of an all-rounder institution, therefore it's not unthinkable for them to back promising adventurers who are bringing money and increasing the standing of the institution. The remaining was just her leveraging the information she had to bring the price down and haggling to secure the purchase (which again, wouldn't happen otherwise).

to conclude, the "unfair" points were a potential misuse of the guild for personal purposes, not declaring it as a personal transaction instead of doing so as an employee of the guild and undeniably an obsession over fruit that really can't be explained other than being the equivalent of cigarettes in that world. None of that make her corrupt, although unethical.

What are you talking about, that’s literally basic business. Being employed means her motivation is self gain and they are her clients because that’s part of her job. Working with clients who bring in good money/product means that yes they get good treatment/service. That’s why they’d want to be clients in the first place!
Sketchiness would be if she was trying to take advantage of them: purposefully showing bad places unless she had guaranteed immediate benefit; only giving services that yield some kind of additional undisclosed kickback and withholding options otherwise; like the scammer from the restaurant situation, making a deal that actively puts them in financial peril tied to a predatory agreement; for a greater example, if she got the land for 300 coins but told them it would cost 350 and pocketed the difference.
Nothing corrupt is happening.
