When I worked at a bookstore almost 2 decades ago we had those exact same rolls of receipt paper, low paper marks and all. I think it's one of those things that's just so well engineered and simple that it's become universal.

There is no central plot for this series, so every chapter is filler, so to speak. And these little tidbits about the inner workings of a library are always welcome

But yeah, asking Ishidaira of all people to be assertive is just asking for trouble.

When I worked at the grocery store we went through so much thermal paper we just had a drawer at each register stocked with it.

Sadly we did not do any arts and crafts with the empty spindles.
