Methinks Kogane's dad has found his successor as protector of the kitsune village, but that plot is still simmering in the background. Also, I don't know if "Take here wherever you like, as much as you want" is a double entendre in the original Japanese, but I laughed. As cozy as these chapters have been, Kogane's expression of love for Goro through her sword makes me think we may just get a big, fluffy resolution to our two lovebird's engagement arc. Thanks as always to sarusa and Thumper.

I don't say this enough but I super appreciate the extra explanations at the end. They bring me joy and I delight in learning something new from them.
Yay! I know they annoy some people, but lots of people like you say they appreciate them and those guys can just skip the page. I only put as many notes as 'needed', 2200 AD Cat Country often has no notes page - but this series is so Japanese there's always something.

I don't like this idea of deadline: Kogane is already improving at astounding speed, and it's clear that she won't stop her training after the ceremony. From the point of her sword skills training it's just a random point in time three months from now. I honestly don't believe she has to be forced to accomplish something special to that date. Piling up her training even more will only result in more blisters on her hands. I don't like that.

As for sfx's, I'm generally against touching them at all. I always vouch for appreciation of original arts, preservation of translators' time and usage of asterisks on the sidelines. Here especially, where sfx's are big and badass.

Now that's a to rile Kogane up. Way to go, dad. He an oustanding fox

Thank you as always for the translation, gentlemen, as well as for credits notes. It's nice when idioms have almost perfect analogues in target language, isn't it?

BUT WHAT KIND OF STEAMED BUN WAS AKANE EATING? These dropped threads, man.... :shamihuh:
I was also wondering about this. But, I do often think about Akane's buns.
To be entirely too serious that looks like dorayaki or anpan, so red bean paste... and from p3 looks like smooth kind. I would bet you good money Goro brought some as souvenirs.

But there is no way anyone can prove it's not extruded boar paste!

I did imagine Akane's buns would be the smooth kind. Thanks, sarusa!

I've been skipping the chatter pages in pretty much every manga, for decades, even if they're the author's (hearing about their convos with their editor or some other mundane occurences bores me out of my mind). Yours are actually worth reading through.

On that note, I wonder how "eight faces, six arms" became "multiskilled" rather than "eldritch abomination" in people's minds :dogkek: .
