I sure hope so, while the anime is a silly comedic series as well. The manga definitely lean more towards the non seriousness aspect.

A bit off topic but I always love how Hikaru relationship with people he is close with is associated with light on different times of day. Masa thought of Hikaru as the sun which makes sense that those two always hang out from morning to evening. Noriko association with Hikaru is during late afternoon when the school is over with sun about to set. While with Rikoteya who is hinted heavily to be Hikaru romantic interest have heart to heart conversation twice beneath bright moonlight. The fact that pink Rikoteya that is most likely "love" Rikotya hide herself on the moon makes me believe that's a sign of her romantic interest towards Hikaru.

She might've already, actually (or at least, retroactively).

In Chapter 21 (the beach episode), you can see a black shadowy silhouette out in the ocean staring at Hikaru when the gals ask him to play at the beach. Granted, the timing doesn't exactly add up (The chapter was released before the Winter 2024 Special Episodes), but I don't exactly know anyone else who has that kind of appearance in the school.

At the very least Otsuji has actually drawn fanart of those episodes so I imagine they're definitely down to do some sort of adaptation though.
