Yeah, i have the same opinion as you, but it just make me more curios, why she get different treatment, it kinda sad to see that she have to do this, she is not a transgender, she have a real female body, she can't do this all the time, it will make another people asking about her more because of it, and you know she can't do this all the time, she will definitely going to go to same gender bath after swimming or when she don't have warm water in her house(like some manga or anime plot story), so that why this plot only makes me wonder why she get this treatment, this plot only add more pressure to her mental
common baths are a thing but still not everyone choses to go to them. It is important that she comes to terms with her gender at her own pace and that is simply what the people around her allowing her to do. I do sense some misgivings in the way you talk about trans people but, this story is kind of an allegory to the trans experience. So if you want to understand more of her mental, maybe check out some trans people stories online.

Hmm, if Akira wants to reclaim at least some of their masculinity they need to lock in.

Also, Natsumi worries seemed a little weird at first, but they are 13/14, so I think it's understandable. Even older people often have big problems with comments like that and it's normal.

This chapter made me wish that Akira would tell Natsumi about her condition, even if she isn't as close to her as she is to Rumi and Aoi. She is a good friend. I can't help but speculate on the final chapters though. If Nana has a negative reaction to Akira (I don't think she will, but there is that possibility), I suspect that Natsumi would be the one to come to Akira's defence.

Having seen (not read, seen, as I can't read Japanese) the raws of the next chapter, Shouji hasn't really adapted to his/her new gender all too well (the looks on the faces of Shouji's companions is telling). What sort of impact will Akira's adaptability have on him/her? Will Shouji start dressing like a girl, or will Shouji remain dressing like a boy and even going through the (undoubtedly complicated) medical process of becoming a transboy?

That the problem bro, this story is not about trans person, she not a person that traped in their oposite gender, she has a real female body, akira has accepted the changes that have happened to her body, her only problem is about her trauma when she not accepted by her surrounding, so why when she already accepting her body, her friend accepted her as female, then why the story still making her look like she not belong to her gender, this only make me more curious

I don't think you're curious and just being bad faith but I'll bite. While Akira isn't a 1:1 transgender character she's still kinda of an allegory, as is the overall tone of the story, since being trans isn't exclusively a problem of adjusting the physical body but it's deeply intertwined with social aspects as well.

Aoi with her head down is super cute, she is the most "girlfriend material" in this story.

Maybe I didn't really got what was the problem with Natsuki?
"She said I have fat tits"? Isn't this compliment? Or is one of those "phase things", it's new and she gets nervous about her body no matter how good she looks (and others girls badmouth exactly because she looks good)?

Rumi's comment a couple chapters ago when she called Akira a pervert for suggesting they bathe together probably doesn't help either

DAMN YOU RUMI!! :slap:

I think it was rather the other girl was saying Natsumi has huge breasts just because she's fat. Like, that girl hadn't seen her with her clothes off, they were just assuming she's overweight-fat and that's why her breasts are big. Natsumi was upset about being called or assumed to be fat because of her breasts, not upset about the size of her breasts.

I love how the presence of someone with the disease who keeps on living as a boy gives A-chan's choice meaning. So many gender-bender stories leave open the reading that whatever changes their bodies also changes their minds, and any way in which they embrace femininity isn't an authentic choice. But here, A-chan knows she could live as a boy, she even feels pressured to tone down her femininity in the last page, but instead she steps in up because, deep down, that's who she is.
Ditto. Having multiple ways out of this situation makes the choice to stay as a girl feel a lot more meaningful. I absolutely hate when gender bends do some magical mind-altering to justify a character staying in the new form. Either the character goes back having learned something new about themselves that reinforces their previous identity (like in Surviving a Harem or Ame Nochi Hare) or appreciates the new life by their own volition (like Orewata and kind of Ranma).

Isn't the angle kinda... "anti-trans"?
Because Akira DIDN'T/DON'T want to be a woman.
The female body was FORCED on him.
The greatest conflict is, "shouganai", "can't be helped", "just accept it and abandon who you was and wanted to be". Akira is mostly trying to become a woman to please others. The thing about liking "girlish things" and "cute things" blurs things a big because like it already showed with that other boy there's nothing wrong with a man liking cute things.

I still don't know what is the point of this story, and this new character makes things interesting. He is in the same position as Akira but refuses to bend to the others and remains "true" to himself.
How will this character affect Akira?

Really?
She uses normal clothes, can't everyone see that she isn't fat?

I'd argue that Akira very much is transgender. Her current gender identity does not align with the one assigned to her at birth. She transitioned from a male gender identity to a female identity throughout her life. The argument that Akira isn't trans seems to come from some idea that gender identity is this immutable trait found within one's body and in order to be trans one has to 'reject' this immutable trait and go against it, which is really just a horrible misunderstanding of sex and gender, and pretty much the opposite of what being transgender is.

Throughout the story akira has prety enthusiastically pursued femininity
ofcourse its a trans story
if you upload the average trans womans mind into akira situation ( they'd be thrilled ) but they would behave similarly
how many aspects of the story would actually change if akira had a penis ( no peroid bonding with rumi, public bath is a bigger problem but i believe that is it )
