Anyways I hope Iruma gets put on trial so we can go to demon court to practice demon law with demon lawyers. Nonzero chance trial by combat is a thing here. In fact, trial by combat in front of a massive audience. Iruma goes "CAN A HUMAN DO THIS?" and blows the prosecutions head smoove off with a classic Barbatos trickshot.

Damn, quite a setup to put Iruma and co. in a lose-lose situation. Shiida sensei caught feelings and got scorched for it by the evil demons sp fast. Those evil demons of origin really suck. And I guess we should have saw this coming since we know Shiida sensei is technically a "double-agent".
But this chapter marks the start of what will likely be a new war amongst the demons... If one has been paying attention, one should know Iruma will become the next demon lord by prophecy from all the previous foreshadowing... and the next generation of 13 crowns will likely all be from the misfits class.
The major factions/players we have seen thus far in the story are Baal/Origin demons, the 3 greats, and the (soon-to-be-divided) 13 crowns (including the border patrol orgs that have 2 or 3 people seated on there). The wild cards we know at the moment are: Alikured, Derkilas, the angels/heavenly realm, and likely Kirio (the former club senpai I remember right).
Ole Henri might be suffering the most here, because I get the feeling that he will be putting himself out there the most to get his daughter's BF to stay cause he ain't gonna let them go through what he went through with his romanticism powers.

You forgot about the three heroes faction, which the 13 crows were terrified of going to war against.

Of course, said heroes factions sided with Iruma and are in support of his mentor (who's also one of the leaders there AND one of the 13 crowns). Mentor that already knows he's human, so she certainly won't be changing her allegiance.

To hell with you, Naberius Narnia. If Baal had nothing to do with this then Baal, do everyone a favor and frame Narnia for leading/having ties to the terrorist organization 6 Fingers, we would be grateful.

He 100% has something to do with this.
Remember, his little henchman is the one that told Shiida to stay near Iruma. They realized she had a soft spot for him and they forced this situation to make Iruma reveal himself. If not for that, then she would have likely escaped safely.

They probably want to use the deportation as an excuse to kidnap Iruma. No one would realize he was taken by the Six Fingers if he was supposed to disappear due to deportation anyway, so they could have him without raising any suspicion. You'll see that Narnia will probably be pushed to take care of his case due to 'concerns' about Henry being too close to Iruma through his daughter.

I always assumed he was a real guy that Narnia was just disguised as, was it ever directly said it's a completely made up identity? I sort of just figured that if Fenrir was a completely fake person someone would've been like "Who is this complete stranger guarding Henri's daughter. Why does he say he's a high ranking demon patrol member. Why is he lying he's surrounded by people who can call him out." Like I guess there's the masquerade element but for most high ranking demons there it's more of a formality, everyone can basically tell who everyone else is anyways.

Unless the idea is that Fenrir is a consistently used identity by Narnia whenever he's doing something he doesn't want to dirty his reputation with. That I can see but I think in a manga like this I'd need some direct exposition to it.

Unless the idea is that Fenrir is a consistently used identity by Narnia whenever he's doing something he doesn't want to dirty his reputation with. That I can see but I think in a manga like this I'd need some direct exposition to it.

OHHH thanks for the source! This is actually really cool, hopefully with the coming arc we can see this explored (I get why we haven't seen it until now, it'd require downtime with Narnia which isn't really something the tension and sense of stakes of the story can afford). I love identity shenanigans.

I doubt it. We are only in year 2 of a school that goes for 7. Even with things being very...bad right now I cant see the series ending soonish and if keeps going it would be weird to not be in the demon school that the series is named after.

The series you mentioned I feel could get away with it since the actual point was going out helping people/taking down bad guys. Here though the entire point is just learning.

Yeah, learning more about him(hopefully) would be great. Villains/antagonists are always better when they have more layers and we know more of them.

On the speculation as to if school stuff will stop/if the manga's ending (not a reply to a specific comment since I've seen a few): Gee I hope not. Absolute WORST CASE scenario I guess I could see Nishi winding down the series early to focus on Ichi at Jump but with the spinoffs ramping up (Irumafia going biweekly, Boku trio spinoff) I can't really believe that. Nishi will continue to go beastmode.

I'm thinking this arc will be a turning point and will alter the status quo but won't completely replace or end it. I'm envisioning that through some Change Loki shenanigans Iruma will be able to "prove himself as a demon" or somesuch, possibly through some large publicized event (always bet on "trial by combat is real and aired on TV in the Netherworld") thus putting a spanner in the works of Baal's plan and ensuring some more security for Iruma so he can be more free in the Netherworld without this fear hanging over him.

This would also let him still reveal himself as human to Azz and Clara on his own terms, as he's said he wants to do. Ideally at the end of the arc like, "hey I know I just said I'm a demon but you two are really important to me and I think it's time you know." Hell, maybe we'll get the Azz bloodline magic reveal and Clara wings reveal alongside that. It feels very much like an "all three will be revealed at once" thing.
