Remember Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360? I looked that up because I thought that Dragon also looked generic as hell, but 20 years later it had way more personality than I thought.

I really like how the Mangaka makes his own versions of each of the Light Novel arts.

They did a really good job for the manga getting an illustrator with a similar style to the LN. Almost looks identical for that top pic. If you told me it was the same artist just a few years later I'd have believed you.

At the same time it still looks a bit different than Kuwashima Rein's style. Some fantastic artwork in both, what a fortunate adaptation.

I see. That explains why they survived and the girl always canonically died after she fell. It likely was never the fall, but running into that monster.

The dragon is probably a thousand years old, so it had to be somewhere all along, even if in the game the players were never supposed to face it before the late game. Since this isn't the game anymore, there are no artificial limits. The dragon doesn't anymore spawn only for a specific fight, its living its life out there. All things considered, it still should visit the place/event where the player was supposed to fight it, though.
