And with that, we've caught up to the raw! Since we don't have much to write notes for this chapter, we decided to translate the Pilgrimage Map that was used for the anime promotions, for anyone wanting to take a trip to Shizuoka City.

Next chapter in no sooner than June 27th. New updates after that will be monthly.

Just for fun, here are some quick write-ups about the authors and some works they've worked on:
  • Harunadon is the author of the 29th Dengeki Novel Prize Grand Prize winner, "Replica datte, Koi wo Suru." - She mostly wrote fantasy novels, with Replico being one of the few that are based in the real world, the other is "I Have 5 Stepsisters" (yes you did not read that wrong).
  • Hanada Momose, the artist, was the illustrator for a different light novel adaption, "I'm Still Thinking About You." (pretty short read, very much recommended)
  • You might recognize the name raemz, the illustrator for the light novel. She's the illustrator for some pretty popular novels out there, with the most popular, by far, being "Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle". Replico is her 2nd work getting adapted into an anime, with "Kakekoi" next season soon becoming the 3rd.

Honestly, leaning into the idea of "who is, and what makes them, the original" is where I was hoping this would go. Sunao despairing over her own personality and how she's changed from "Nao-chan" to "Aisawa-san" feels like it could be attributed to Nao's appearance. The more Sunao ...well, pushed all the hard & difficult parts of growing up onto her replica, the more she stifled her own chances to grow alongside her classmates.
I suspect that's what happened, at any rate. If Sunao was as bright and cheery as Nao, then relying on Nao more and more left Sunao cooped up at home, avoiding everything and everyone, and stewing in the resentment of watching her duplicate continue to flourish. We know she took it out on Nao constantly as well...and it's only been recently that they've started making up and Nao has been allowed to simply exist and be herself (albeit only when she can be physically separate from Sunao, for obvious reasons).

But I hope that Sunao discovers that she's allowed to be, and doesn't have to accommodate or apologize to anyone. She has "growing up" to catch up on, but it's not too late. All the more so when she has a core group of friends--not to mention Nao herself--who care deeply for her, and would support her at the drop of a hat.

The metaphor of being afraid of being authentic to yourself and what "version" of you must be presented to the world is lovely and deep, though. There's a lot of fluffy moments and cute bits with the romance between Aki & Nao, but that underlying aspect of what it means to be able to create another version of yourself reamins. And finding out that more and more of the cast have--or, alarmingly, had--duplicates of their own is expanding the world (literally, I guess), and growing the chance to hit on that more existential side of the narrative.

Thanks for the TL. Glad I gave this series a chance, because I've been enjoying it immensely since it was restarted.

10Km by bike aren't even that much... it probably takes like 20-25 minutes even if you take your time.

p.18 "we can..." word missing

10km by bicycle is doable but eats quite a lot of time. If public transport is available and parents value their children's time, they'll pay for commuting pass

Well I didn't expect Satou to had a replica once as well

Edit: also oh God. With how the story has been going, and Satou not having a replicas anymore (which might mean she knows how to get rid of them for good), I have a strong feeling we're getting a bittersweet ending (something like Sunao and Shuuya getting rid of Nao and Aki for good so the OGs could finally grow up without depending on their replicas)

I ride to work and back, it's about 7.6km each way over almost entirely flat ground. (Though the way back is slightly uphill) It takes me about 20-25 minutes to ride in, and 25-30 minutes to ride back.
