On another note, it's interesting that the author clearly had Kirishima be outside his house during the typhoon. His backstory seems to be significantly more serious than anything else in this manga.

I'm on the same boat as you, haha

Yeah, Kirishima even got one of those flashback panels meant for intense drama some chapters ago when Hikoichi was pondering about his friend.
On another note, this is one narrative device I really like, and wish I could see more of: we get glimpses of a character's life by thematic common knowledge, without even the need of getting a full chapter explicitly unwrapping it.
It's pretty cool!
