I don't mind this character archetype, but I do think she's showing up at a pretty awkward time. Jin-Yong and Sunwoo are in this weird limbo where neither of them can really move forward until Sunwoo deals with the baggage she's carrying.

Jin-Yong is actively trying to break down the walls she's built around herself and understand the trauma behind them. At the same time, Sunwoo is clearly starting to realise she has feelings for him, but she's scared of confronting them because opening her heart also means reopening old wounds. That's a pretty important stage of their relationship.

That's reading too far into it.

It's a Manwha, better odds are that she just can't handle handsome faces because she rarely sees faces. A callback to MC not being able to handle seeing her instead of stones.

So throwing a new girl into the mix right now feels a little problematic. I can definitely see her being used as a plot device to force Sunwoo to stop running away from her feelings and finally "claim" Jin-Yong. Even though I'm not a fan of developments like this, if that's the direction the author is going, I just hope the new girl is more of a catalyst than an actual "love rival," (even if Jin-Yong doesn't see her that way) because I think Jin-Yong and Sunwoo already have more than enough emotional ground left to cover.
