at this point, she never believe mc is the one who defeat benedict
she only begun to question about mc when mc begun to be involved in important event (like mc is always there when there's a big fight, but nobody ever see how mc fight), but even then she still hasnt connect the dot yet or more like in denial

actually the elf is in slump situation right now since she cant grow stronger, the reason is because she is too attached to mc and trying too hard in mimicking mc style which does not suit her (like she even goes angry and throwing tantrum why she cant use mc's former sword)
this make the elf losing when there's a big fight, thus she is kinda useless in dangerous situation

so yeah, she is kinda pathetic

Nah, I don't blame the elf, at least for that initial reaction.
Its logical to not believe a random kid could beat one of the toughest people around. But I agree with:

If shes suppose to be logical, then logic states that the guy didn't just fall over, someone defeated him. So barring any other witnesses or clues about the whereabouts of this mystery person, you look into the one lead you have which are the statements from these kids. It's no more logical to believe some random super strong person came, beat up one guy, then disappeared, all without a trace.

The main problem is a lot of writers seem to mistake characters being cold and being logical. Just because someone's cold it doesn't mean they're being logical and just because someone's being friendly doesn't mean they're being illogical. As Sherlock Holmes put it there's not a lot of logic in acting coldly when you're a detective, that just makes it harder to talk to people and gather clues.

Thinking logically about it, if there is a kid strong enough to defeat a Sword God Vampire with a single strike, what would the governing body do to her? If the elf lady wants to protect the children, including the one that is strong enough to defeat the vampire, making it seem like she doesn't believe the testimonies of the victims and leaving the place guarantees the beaten up victor can go back to the care of her family without knights and nobles trying to use or get rid of her due to the possible threat she could become.
