I'm very curious about the father Adonis. The last chapter indicates he was just negligent and not outright cruel like the step- mother and daughter. In this chapter, it seems Adonis had no idea where the previous head butler went. I think this means the butler was dismissed by the step mom, and Adonis had no idea.
Yes, I wonder about him too. My guess is he genuinely loved Alanna, but he's an emotional nitwit who chose to avoid his daughter and stepfamily and all his responsibilities, instead of facing her death. The "So stoic that he appears borderline retarded" trope.

In his position, he cannot avoid responsibility. He allowed his domain, which is a frontier of the kingdom and needs to be well maintained to stave off attacks, to be overrun by corruption and worse. Being a super meathead isn't an excuse. He apparently noticed that the competent head butler disappeared 5 years ago! It was obvious to him that things were happening behind his back (I mean you can see his reaction to his wife cheering him on when he went off to fight that he wasn't wrapped under her thumb) but he just kept ignoring the situation. It's definitely unfortunate for him that he was put in a position of responsibility which he couldn't escape from, but the least he could do was ensure that he has people he trusts to manage things properly yet he allowed all of the competent servants to be dismissed by bad actors.

The brat was the main reason why Aria almost died a miserable death in the first place. She knew what she was doing, but just didn't care because she was so jealous of Aria. She doesn't deserve to be executed, but she deserves to be put in prison.

That's incorrect. Her mother is the one who wanted Aria to be dead so that her child would inherit everything.

While the manga depicts her as an independent actor abusing Aria, children take some time to develop independent thoughts (especially ones which may run contrary to their role models) and usually copy people they trust, that is their parents. She was also raised, in her early childhood, by her mother alone as a poor commoner, and so the environment and her mother both enabled a cutthroat thinking instead of any kindness because that was the only way to survive.

Of course, at this point, she's pretty rotten and I can't condone anything she's done, but I can at least understand it. Where you have poverty, you have crime, by necessity. (I would be much less forgiving for those born in wealth who still practice crime.)

Either way, her future is bleak; prison for a young child is absurd, but freedom is just her becoming an orphan with no support and destined for the slums. So if she does avoid execution or prison, then the best for her is to be placed somewhere to learn a trade and at least become a productive member of society.

I know that the brat girl is a baddie and im glad shes being punished- but, I still get sad seeing a kid in prison and scared like that...
I wonder what happens to her, and her mother, or are they just written out of the story here? Spoilers anyone?

Story reminds a lot of what happened in Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! minus the comedy angle..

It's really both the mother and daughter that wanted Aria dead. The mother was the one that started it, but the daughter happily joined in and went out of her way to make Aria suffer more than if it was just the mother. Even as a little kid below the age of 10, I knew what would happen if you starve people and treat them like shit. Just because the mother enabled it, doesn't mean the daughter gets away from all the responsibility of the torment she caused -- it just lessens the severity of it.

And being poor is not an excuse to be shitty to other people. I've met plenty of poor people and most of them are kind and generous people.

The daughter was just as complicit as the mother in tormenting and almost killing Aria. The only reason why she does not deserve a more severe punishment is because she is still a child. Even minors go to "Detention Centers" for a time.

And here i thought taking even the mansion was a bad ass move... then she just throws a social nuke, like throwing salt to the ground, their name will be nothing

And honestly i would like for her to travel, but since they are giving face and time to the prince and this investigator guy... i kind of think she won´t be able to move that far

First page of next chapter has him saying
that he thinks aria was kidnapped by the thieves and needs to be saved
That may be what he thinks right now, but I was thinking of later on in the future where Aria actually has breasts and is bangable. Probably right before she enrolls in your typical fantasy academy.

What would be funny is if the entire kingdom is in full turmoil while Aria is just chillin at a beach in some tropical paradise completely oblivious to it all.

Just binged this. Great to see this kind of revenge. I was hoping for Aria to take all the buildings though. Haha.

I think every kid deserves a chance to learn from their own misdeeds, so if thats what it takes so beit, I shall shoulder their burdens.
Akaash Signh... is that you /s

If she has a genuine change of heart after prison, I'll agree with you. But right now, she deserves to spend some time in prison. She seems totally unrepentant and her deeds are just too great for me to have any sympathy for her.

havent fully translated that part yet but it looks like she’s heading to an orphanage with a potential change of heart about her behavior

Prince is very far behind her and she picked a path he’d never expect. I doubt he’ll reach her anytime soon

The child is barely out of adolescents an may not even qualify as a teen. In fact ither then being told she is older then Aria, we are never tild her actual age. So hile I agree some remedial measures need be taken remedial redress her personality and general disposition, I doubt there are such specialized facilities in this setting.

So the worst option will just dropping her in state sponsored orphanage, mid-ground would be handed off to a religious organization that specializes disagreeable noble ladies, and the option that would let her keep some of her standing is being fostered to a noble house for strict reeducation as a lady in waiting.

Yeah the father had an affair and married the mistress, neglecting his wife and then allowed the daughter to just disappear, trusting the words of the new wife that the child was just hiding away. Looks like he knows what he did was unforgivable.
The second wife also does but just wants to see if she can escape the blame.
Anyway, we know from the 2nd page of the first chapter she gets a house with a beastfolk boy and two girls where she looks to be living the 'slow life' which means we might get the dreaded route of it being too slow life. xD
Dunno if there's going to be more going on for the plot to keep going.

While the best solution would be to hand her off to some specialized institution for criminal minors, we have no idea at this time if such institutions actually exist. And if I had to choose between putting her in prison, or letting her get off without punishment simply because she is a minor, I would choose to send her to prison for a short while.

Too many bullies get away with causing so much life long trauma simply because "they are just kids". As if their victims are not kids themselves that do not have to live with the trauma their bullies caused for the rest of their life. Unless this girl is getting raped and tortured in prison, she's getting what she deserves.
