After she talked about the numbers of those little ones a thought came in my mind, how do they reproduce?

Like, when they were in that wasteland where there were multiple predators who could kill them they were still able to have a considerable ammount of people among them(300), however many of them were show diying in previous chapters, so now that they are in a relatively safe enviroment i wonder how much this number will grow in the future, and when we consider the ammount of food each of them eats if this number of 300 grows to the thousands in the future they will have a very big problem.

Also this situation kinda reminds me of the ants in HxH, in the dark continent ants were not a very big threat but when the queen was able to get to a safe place in the human world the ants were able to grow very much, those little chickens were not able to grow much in the wasteland with all those god like beings like thunder dragons, but now that they are in the human world where they can safely grow both in numbers and themselfs individually i wondder how strong they will become in the future.

Wow, they dispatched that small army in no time. As expected, even the little ones are completely immune to that magic and they are strong enough to completely break heavy armour. I guess they couldn't stop themselves from going berserk. It's good they only faced a small army because cooperating with allies is somewhat impossible right now if they only distinguish ostrishkin from others.

The merchant's report is going to quickly sober up the strategist.

Well, they have a breeding season apparently. Though I don't know when we'll see it. Their numbers can definitely grow now and they may be able to challenge the plateau once they have bigger numbers and clear out monsters.

The only reason they were able to grow their flock to that number was Reisu leading them and gathering all the smaller flocks. They were honestly on the brink of extinction. Natural selection was brutal on the plateau.

I wonder if we'll see any of the little ones ever evolve a bit like Reisu thanks to having to deal with a lot more knowledge. I also wonder if they'll ever cross-breed with other races. But well, I don't expect any of this to happen anytime soon.

I laughed when it cut to the merchant freaking out. How's he supposed to explain this to his boss?
"So, hey, remember those beastmen mercenaries I mentioned? Well, they are super strong, they beat our army in a blink of an eye. So I'm deflecting, I'm burning everything down, and I'm going to run as far as I can, good luck, bye~"

Yep. The natural outcome if you dare attack Boss/Chief/“Mama” in front of the Flocklings. Even if Reisu didn’t get hurt.

The danger of evolving in a harsh environment led to quite the stock of bullshit strength. These little murder chickens are the results of evolution prioritizing survival and strength over wrinkles on the brain.

Matilda realizing she was one step away from having her town wiped out in retaliation is as good as it was in the LN.

Also, she can stop them by going full Chieftain mode to snap them out of it. She has to do it later to prevent them getting hurt by an actual threat that managed to strike a serious wound to her- which meant it could kill her precious flocklings. Unfortunately, I don’t think a normal human soldier would survive, with their dignity in tact, the amount of Aura needed to snap them out of Blood Frenzy.

Not quite. She held it off and survived the battle with the Ancient Lightning Dragon, even took one of its eyes. It’s a “win” if you count survival of her and some of her Flock, I guess.

Does... does chicken mama have Conquerors' Haki???

Holy shit the birbs really went full scorched earth. They just had to pick lightning magic huh... They might have stood a chance at survival if they had just tried fire instead.

Poor Matilde. Also the decision to made their feet ostric’s and not a human one like LN is brilliant. It’ll be so goofy if they cut those soldi down with human feet.
iirc they do have non-human feet in the LN but the art doesn't reflect it. I think she still makes remarks about her talons in the LN.

It wouldn't be possible without an increase in firepower, numbers only make a difference if you're actually able to do damage, I guess you could increase the size of the army until they die of exhaustion from killing them but that's a bit wasteful.
They're only weakness is that they have a preset kill limit. Strategist-sama will of course figure this out and send wave after wave of his own men until the birbs finally reach it and shut down.

If it was 20v1, soldiers could possibly......stall.....one of the child forms. But that flock never truly separates, and their cavalry power isn't something even cannons could reasonably stop without multiple layers.

Against MC? If she had proper training and some gear to extend her reach if needed? Morals are the only thing stopping her.

And they're PREY out in the wastelands. Dragons here are truly something else.

she shared a bit during chapter 7: The females lay eggs, these eggs probably hatch quick and in 3 years the hatchlings are already adults.

exactly because of that I don't think they will grow much. Since there are no threats culling them, theoretically their numbers would grow, but then they hit other limiting factors like natural resources. Since Reisu and her flock are capable of organizing (somewhat) I'd think she would try to avoid limitless multiplying if there is no need.

I don't think so.
Reisu already mentioned that the flock were same age as her, and the only difference being that she had more intelligence.
And they also capable to kill an earth dragon, meaning even a fortress won't stop their attack.
You can't underestimate this cute killer bird.
