Ngl Itsuki was my least favourite out of the other 3 main summoned heroes

Rishia... she made reading/listening to the books a genuine pain to get through with those constant gasps of hers. At least it's less effective here in the manga form.

Nah, Motoyasu got his own spin-off, you can't say the same about the other 2.
Well a Ren spinoff would be pretty tame seeing as he's just a normal dude

He has a better character than Motoyasu, but Motoyasu is more interesting due to how unhinged he is

I need help understanding this whole situation: I am a manga-only reader here and I confess it's been a while since I did a re-reading of the early chapters, but is there a fucking reason Rishia likes/loves Itsuki to this extent...?
She kept getting bullied by the other team members when she was with him and he did nothing about it... now I get it that they want to "rehabilitate" him like they did with the sword hero but I can't for the life of me understand why Rishia still likes him so much... is her character badly written in the manga, is she just that dumb or am I the dumb one for not understanding this arc premise...?

Also, I get it that we're supposed to not like the other three heroes but jesus their character is so bland that I can't even fully hate them, they are all simply useless and incoherent...

Not really, he was kinda nice to her when they first met and she lacked confidence/strength. And that’s about it, she’s just been obsessed ever since.

Genuinely, worst characters in this whole story. I personally couldn’t care less about either of them.

I don't know if it is about the translation, or the manga adaptation, or maybe our memories of the manga (since ch 43 is like 8 years ago)

Rishia is the daughter of a noble family.
Itsuki saved Rishia when she was forcefully taken by other town's noble.
The very evil noble who hired bandits so Rishia's hometown fell to poorness, which made her parents took some debt from the evil noble who targetted her.
Rishia may look plain at glance, but she got big melons. If Itsuki didn't save her in time, classic SA stuff will happen to her (Spear Hero Web Novel Canon btw, written much later after the LN finished adapting Shield WN material.)

Thank you for this! I somehow totally forgot about her background story it seems, the only fresh part in my mind was her "position" in Itsuki's team because it was discussed in recent chapters as well, I guess I really need to go back and read everything from chapter 1 again!
