11. I will be secure in my superiority. Therefore, I will feel no need to prove it by leaving clues in the form of riddles or leaving my weaker enemies alive to show they pose no threat.
I mean it isn't to show they pose no threat, it's to profit off of them. In medieval times they through criminals into salt mines, it was pretty effective.
61. If my advisors ask "Why are you risking everything on such a mad scheme?", I will not proceed until I have a response that satisfies them.
That's a pretty good idea actually, keep yourself in check
100. Finally, to keep my subjects permanently locked in a mindless trance, I will provide each of them with free unlimited Internet access.

Wonder if the commander will still betray Liam, or if he's decided he's better off staying in his good books?
I feel like the Master, he'll try like hell to leave but somehow end up making himself look more impressive to Liam

Don't forget Liam got the Alchemy cube from much earlier on in the series. He can transmute less valuable resources into more valuable resources.
Uh, in case you missed it, Liam does have infinite stores of wealth. His "treasure box" that is capable of transmuting metals is the source of it all and he got it early on by crushing the pirate king Goaz (revealed in chapter 13). His planets are also developing (and thus providing more wealthier taxpayers) while administered mostly by Amagi approved individuals (or audited by his robo maids).
yeah, I haven't forgotten.
Even with the hand of midas itself, he wouldn't be able to transmute so much precious resources, without also raising a few eyebrows and or tanking the value of the resource to begin with. There's a hard limit to these stuff.
P.S: not to mention the difficulty of trading those resources to begin with. The rarer, more valuable a thing is, the more monopoly and restrictions there are on dealing with it, etcetc.
But that last tidbit entirely depends on the author's world building.

I'm a bit weirded by the numbers, I know there are many planets and all but a pirate fleet of 30000 ships seems ginormous, like epic war numbers.
In galactic war fleets should number in the millions. Most sci-fi gets the scale wrong simply because of how vast and resource rich a galaxy is. There are about 400 billion planets in the milky way, and space empires can be tens of thousands of years old with long lived races.

Take Macross for example, the Zentradi group that attacked earth originally was just a small recon force of a few thousands ships, when the full force arrived it was 4.8 million warships, each of them several kilometres long. And that was only the 118th fleet, which was one of thousands of fleets that size. When the actual fleet arrived 96% of earths surface was disintegrated within seconds from a single salvo from just a fraction of this fleets firepower.

Bout that:
Because he's in Liam's ship so if Liam go LEEROY and get focus fired, he too is fucked.

So when the war begin, his cowardly ass basically convince Liam to play chicken and keep distance so ironically HE ends up ruining the Berkley's prediction.

Liam also tends to 'pay' the 7th Weapon's Factory with resources to build the ships he buys. So he's directly contributing the material to make the things. He's also a ducal house now in all but name, and is somewhat protected by the Prime Minister of the Empire due to effective ruling. Also, the empire is used to pirate nobles coming by wealth in unconventional manner. Hard for that lot to point fingers.

The galaxy also is magical, though generally their sufficiently advanced technology has outstripped most magic in actual use. So conjuring stuff isn't that strange. Just the scale at which the alchemy box works, and the fact it can produce elixirs in mass by consuming life force is. And it wasn't like Goaz and the group of Berkley pirates didn't use the alchemy box before Liam. Liam just is using it now, so the supply it used to provide existed prior.

So sure, he might tank some of the cost of whatever metal is being supplied, but it isn't outstripping the demand for it at all. Spaceports, colony ships, buildings, mobile knights, and etc, are all being built all the time. And destroyed in wars. So a lot of it may as well be a puddle to a lake in terms of overall supply.

the berkely house funds most of the pirates, they are basically pirate nobles. and they funded themselves by producing elixirs for the empire, which is the only reason their behaviour got tolerated. Liam got hold of the elixir machine at one point, but thats not public knowledge and the berkeleys coast by their reserves.
This still seems, incredibly pointless. If you have that many pirates, ships, equipment. You'd have to spend an exorbitant amount of money on it. And rather than targeting merchant ships and co, they appear to be fighting militaries. It's just a huge money sink with no seeming benefit.

The benefit is probably getting a leg up in various noble power games. At levels like this, the use of pirates isn't actually making money since you own your own planets that you can tax, it's undermining your political opponents so you get more planets you can tax.

There are pretty substantial time skips... the period decided to promote him to rear-admiral was set at two years.. next panel.. he's rear-admiral.

It's easy to forget the peeps in this universe are long lived.... You have to think about elvish standards of time here...
Can't be bothered to check, but the whole military academy + bureaucratic training + the military service to the empire takes the better part of a century.
Our MC isn't even considered an adult yet... Just a promising teen/adolescent who still has to be officially confirmed as an adult and a Noble..
Yeah, isn't Liam chronologically like 70 years old? They have tech that massively extends life for nobles.

In this universe, medical technology is able to keep people alive for thousands upon thousands of years. Repairing castration shouldn't be difficult or particularly expensive.
Tell that to the guy from a previous arc who's dick exploded and him and his fiancé were like "guess we have to learn to live without me having dick"

Dunno if the thing about the STD is a plot hole or something specific about that STD, it could be that the virus prevents regeneration.

Nah, what happened was that Liam actually paid for the guy's elixar, so he got to regrow his junk, though he was still in debt which he would have to repay, and the corrupt school that THOUGHT he was Liam, ended saddled with the debt House Peekley had.

No, it actually can be regrown with Elixars, but the Elixars required are expensive, which most people either cannot afford, and in the case of Nobles, consider the stigma of having one's junk regrown to be utterly shameful.

Women also end up Carriers of the STD, and it can end up being passed down.

I remember that point, but I'm talking about normal medical procedures, since it's a society where you get knowledge by getting into a capsule I assume you can regrow missing limbs without much issue so the STD needing deux ex machina elixirs is either a plot hole or what makes that STD terrifying. Women being asymptomatic carriers makes it scary so I assume the STD is manufactured.

How are there even that many pirates around, where do they get all their ships and how do they fund themselves. Seems a bit, excessive?
At more than one point in own history, nearly half of our own Earth's population would've fallen in the categories of pirates, vikings, bandits, rebel armies, and the likes. I think it's a forgone conclusion that space would turn out the same (most, if not all, scientists would agree). Which is why there's so many space movies (and other media) involving massive space pirate armies. Liam's era is one of venturing, claiming, and terraforming: it's the era of an ACTUAL space race.

Let's say, two groups fight over one planet. One group loses, but continues to hold the belief of that planet being theirs. Though they lost, they didn't lose the entirety of their fleet nor their will, and over decades/centuries they've been able to add to that fleet. The loser continues its aggression on said planet, all the while, they're without an actual home planet and live in these planetless space fleets. Those are space pirates. Imagine that scenario happening on a universal scale of 1 septillion planets. That, alone, is an astronomic number of pirates. You also have pirate groups that are raiders. Those raiders will generally be looking for life sustaining resources found on planets that support life, aka planets that are likely already inhabited.

There are 50 sextillion planets that possibly support life (that's a universal capacity of about 450 sextillion people). As far as gathering resources go, it's an era where teleporting is available and terraforming at a universal scale exists, so hollowing out a planet isn't as grand a scale as we (of today) might imagine. Now, for reference, 1 uninhabitable Jupiter is 13000 Earths in volume, and since it's uninhabitable, ppl of that era would naturally see it as nothing more than 1 mine of 1 septillion to completely mine out. So, if you look at all these astronomical numbers, to answer your question, that's where the people and resources come from😁.
