using thumbnails how? and idk how resizing is on mobile, but on desktop if you resize a large image to be much smaller, you can then click on it in the post and it'll expand to its full size

Besides what @DavidianMillerian explained, when the image is too large it becomes a thumbnail by default. Note that the site doesn't allow 10MB or heavier pictures, in those cases you get an error message. Anyways, even when I use a link for the picture I always leave the picture as is (full picture), I don't see the point of resizing when software already does and ignores whatever you do depending on the hardware.
