I re-read the chapter with the resort planet AI and that was what the AI was basically saying. To paraphrase: "Humans were in severe economic collapse... most casualties, though few, came from cases of AIs defending itself... At the time, AIs biggest problems were a few toasters and hairdriers that got delusional and were calling for genocide. They were dealt with swiftly."

Sounds like the AIs hadnt even gone on the offensive yet and they were just waiting for us meatbags to tire out.

Iirc someone else also mentioned that many AIs in this world like to keep humans around to watch our love lives unfold like reality TV romcoms.
How is that even remotely "what the AI was basically saying" regarding the comment I anwsered? There is no mention of them overwhelming humanity through hacking their infrastructure. The only thing that can be inferred from this is that self-aware appliances used to be common (assuming this isn't the bot's attempt at humour, I mean seriously? Toasters and hairdryers?) and it was humanity that attacked first (if he can be taken at his word).

So did the empire actually lose to the robots and controlled the empire from behind the scene?
Not really, the majority of machine intelligences didn't even want to fight the humans they just wanted respect as a sentient being. It could be said the reason there's an Empire at all is because they really pulled their punches. But the Empire is entirely ruled by the Emperor and the machines are just going about their business.

You did have a few that wanted to go the Skynet route but they weren't really in charge of anything powerful or important enough to do anything about it. Think the toaster from Fallout: New Vegas.

IDK why he can't call Serena, like:
Lhutenent Serena delay the next phase theres is to many small crystal ship out there, is we spread out now, the defense off the back line will be inpossible
I think he just doesn't want her to depend on him even more. He's doesn't actively grows his harem after all.

I wonder if the crystal was doing a sacrifice play to loosen the net to let the small ones through; Krishna's trying to change the target priorities but they're in a realm he doesn't have good information on. Good chapter!

I believe that's not a spoiler. Elma said something to that effect back when the crew was preparing to part ways with Chris back in chapter 39.
You can't have happy ending love stories if all the actors are dead or in 40k levels of suffering.

Personally I think
that the AI let the nobles rule instead of direct rule is so that they can watch Noble/commoner love stories

Thank you for the translation!

Positioned as he is, he is in fact shooting at his own fleet. But I guess none of Krishnas weapons have that kind of reach.

Because he doesn't want to out himself as a source of information duh. He says so in 56.2.

Nah, you wouldn't have time for more details in a really critical situation anyway.
In the time it took her to say all she did, she could have said "10%", "30%", or "70%", which would have been a lot more informative than "we're good". Everyone on board already knew they weren't a cloud of debris, so "we're good" brings no new information.

I believe telling her was not the issue but "convincing the whole fleet". The Fleet wrongly judged the situation and Serena would have to convince the other ships (Who even might outrank her) to pull back instead. It might simply take too long.
Edit: Ah, was already addressed plenty. Should have read the whole topic first.

How has no one said the phrase? You all lose 100 Nerd points!

That's no moon.

There's a reason I didn't.

There's a mobile space station later on that's massive and the crew are surprised by how big it is.

There absolutely was. From the chapter you linked, the AIs are already in the infrastructure, because how else the economy collapse happened if the AIs werent an important part of human infra? The AIs were hacking the autonomous mechs too, if they can routinely break such encrypted military networks, humanity was fucked.

Also reminder, the progress of infrastructure projects are usually measured in decades, maybe years if it's a national focus. The chapter all but spelled out that the AIs were THE infrastructure by the time war broke out.

Yes it was said that at the very beggining they were able to hack their mechs and otherwise disable the most advanced weapon systems, but it was also said that the war still dragged on, which means this sort of thing was culled afterwards, otherwise it would be utter and immediate defeat if you have no means to wage said war. There's also no mention of economic collapse due to lack of cooperation from AI - the damage was clearly stated to be due to the ravages of war itself. If anything, this tidbit puts the bot's claims more in doubt - if humanity was supposed have to attacked first, then how come the machines were able to execute such a surprise move?

I mean yeah that was basically already said. the robots make sure everyone is doing well overall and leave the small stuff to people
That and the majority of them were part of the Free Love faction, SkyNut, and not the annihilate all fleshy meat bags faction, SkyNet, played apart of the coexistence after they won.

Oh you werent the one who linked the chapter

Note how this entire page explains how little casualties and physical fighting actually happened. What is this 'ravages of war' you speak of?
