The only thing is that Airi did not write the manga, she only did the doujinshi. It was Kei Oike (Miike) who changed the original story of the manga version and did the illustration, and those changes were just approved by Airi. In her recent interview, she says that she let people do whatever they wanted with karamizakari and gave then creative freedom.
So, if you are hopeful because the manga version had a "good" ending then you are basically setting yourself up for disappointment since Airi had nothing to do with the story of the manga. She only had her name as she was the original creator of the story (the doujinshi). Someone also pointed this out previously here.
