Except following this line of action results in him dying very early, instead of upsetting plans of the villains early. He knows WHO are the villains, so he can just work from the shadows against them while changing his outcome for the best using his knowledge of various characteristics and events that will happen regardless. He's doing the absolute worst version of securing game knowledge for future use right now, and that's why everyone's pissed off.
