I always thought it was stupid how girls get pissed and embarrassed showing their panties, yet make a big deal showing off their bikinis at the pool or beach. They even get angry when you do not compliment how good they look in their bikini. Unless they're see through, aren't they both essentially the same thing?

Lol yeah, I commented in the first chapter. Maybe its the people around MC that needs fixing - like what exactly has MC done to earn/deserve the treatment they're giving him? Are they doing it because they can and simply doesn't care?
IMO, those are the worst kinds of people one could meet in life because those people are irrationally evil.
If the MC was a plain old sloth, I can see something about people around MC pushing him to do more... But everyone around him is just trying to to beat the shit outta him to satisfy their ego. IDK about his mom yet, but she seems like the stereotypical pushover trad wife.
As for the new girl, I'm on a wait-and-see approach.
